No matter which country, which race or what language do you speak, music is an universal language that connects people souls together. From electronic dance music to catchy jazz, there is definitely a certain type of music which can make your body move uncontrollably. Here’s our personal favourite 10 epic music festival playlist which will make you get up and dance:
1. Pitchfork 2017
As the hipster haven returns to Chicago’s Union Park July 14-16, this year’s most interesting artists shows the mix of old and new, common and rare.
2. EDM House 2017
Love EDM music? This playlist puts festivals such as the Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and many others altogether for your ears. So, put your hands up. And start partying!
3. Ultra Music Festival Miami
This festival is an outdoor electronic music festival that takes place during March in the city of Miami, Florida, every year. The festival was founded in 1999 by Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes and is named after the 1997 Depeche Mode album, Ultra.
4. Austin City Limits Music (ACL) Festival 2017
This annual music festival is held in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas on two consecutive three-day weekends. It was inspired by the PBS concert series of the same name, and the festival is produced by Austin-based company C3 Presents, which also produces Lollapalooza.
5. Levitate Music Festival 2017
This is a grassroots music and arts festival featuring roots, reggae, folk rock, funk music. Check out their epic playlist if they’re your cup of herbal tea.
6. Firefly Music Festival 2017
Firefly Music Festival is a music festival produced by Red Frog Events alongside Goldenvoice. The festival takes place in The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway, an 105-acre festival ground, over the span of four days. Many well-known acts are performed at the festival and is produced by Red Frog Events with Goldenvoice, with the hopes of having “an open-air festival on the East Coast with plenty of outdoor camping”.
7. North Sea Jazz Festival 2017
This is a festival held each second weekend of July each here in the Netherlands. The founder of the three-day festival was Paul Acket, a businessman and jazz lover who had made fortune in the 1960s with his pop magazine publishing company. The festival is famous internationally for the various music styles it presents; from traditional New Orleans jazz to Swing, bebop, fusion, blues, gospel music, and so many more.
8. Newport Folk Festival 2017
This American annual folk-oriented music festival is held in Newport, Rhode Island, beginning in July 1959 as a counterpart to the previously established Newport Jazz Festival. The festival features performances by folk, blues, country, bluegrass and folk rock musicians, and since the 1990s has featured performers from related contemporary genres, such as alternative country, indie folk and folk punk.
9. Panorama 2017
Panorama is a summer music festival held at Randall’s Island Park, in New York City, and is now on its second run. The headliners this year are Frank Ocean, Solange, Tame Impala, alt-J, Nine Inch Nails and A Tribe Called Quest. Other interesting names on the line-up include Spoon, Vince Staples, Mitski, Angel Olsen, Foxygen, Jamila Woods, Pinegrove, Noname and MGMT. Now, this is my kind of playlist.
10. Global Dance Festival 2017
This festival has been a cornerstone of dance music scene in Colorado since the 90’s. In a time when the genre was still unknown and sometimes frowned upon, the festival got the opportunity to present at one of the best venues in the entire world, Red Rocks Amphitheater. Before the time of mega festivals, this yearly homecoming was unique across the nation and has grown to be recognized by fans across the world.
