As someone who shares just as much interest for fashion with many other women from around the world, it is in our DNA to always be one step ahead to look out for all sorts of trends that are happening. According to a research of mine, there seem to be many trends from previous year that won’t be outdated anytime soon, despite the new direction we are headed to.
Without further ado, here are 10 important looks that will dominate our Instagram feed (and closet) for the next 10 months to come.
1. Pastel mania
Its about time you unleash your statement pieces in all their cotton candy colored glory from your closet and wear it unapologetically. The weirder your combos are, the hipper you’ll look!
2. Sequins
Gone are the days when glitter and sequins are only worn during the night or festivities. They’re just as fit for daytime. Simply pair them with a t-shirt, skirt or dress, and rock the same look on its own during after-hours.
3. Plaids and checks
It looks like the plaids and tartans trend which, we are already seeing everywhere is still going strong. These power-print are timeless pieces that can be worn and incorporated into any preferred styles of your personal likings, be it as the main eye-catching feature or a supporting piece.
4. Polka dots
The polka dot era goes way back in the fashion history, and so it seems like they are reviving it in present days as it was spotted on multiple runways. Make sure to pick the ones in black and white monochrome with modern shapes to avoid a potential wardrobe malfunction.
5. Transparency
You definitely need a little bold in you to embrace this trend as it usually leaves a little to the imagination. If you’re all about the conservative look, you can always wear a full slip dress underneath.
6. Dresses on shirts
While this trend may have started from slip dresses worn over plain shirts, there were various dresses worn over different types of shirts spotted on the Spring’18 runways, one of it being flowy dresses worn over leopard shirts. The dresses aren’t necessary worn over shirts, it could be button downs and tops. Get creative with your mix n match!
7. Lavender and lilac
This color will definitely be the biggest color to shine this year as seen on the Spring ’18 runways. It is also a nice change from the millennial pink which had its moments for quite a while now. Besides, the soft hue is not too harsh on the eyes and looks great on everything.
8. Short stories
This type of shorts is perfect for the weather with just the right length without over exposing too much skin. It gives off a boss look when worn with a blazer at the same time highlighting that long legs of yours!
9. High rises
Waist hugging high pants and skirts was one of the looks that took over the Spring ’18 runways. Whether you pair it with a plain shirt, it gives everything a sleeker and streamlined finish. Also, this screams legs for days since it makes your legs look extra long.
10. Jumpsuits
The one-piece wonder is definitely going to be a staple piece in your wardrobe this year. It is back in full force with a bit of utilitarian twist this time around. Some are boxy and boyish, while others are fitted. One things is for sure, there will be one for every body shape and taste.
