#1 Samyang Instant Ramen
If there is ranking on spicy level of instant noodles, I would definitely rate Samyang ramen as number 1. Samyang is a hot chicken flavor ramen from Korea. There are six types of ramen, which includes Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen, Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen Cheese, Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen Ice, Extreme Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen, Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen Curry and Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen Mala.
The first bite is spicy but it wasn’t that bad. But from the second bite onward, the sensation is indescribable. It got so spicy that I felt like my mouth and tongue were on fire. You can literally feel the fire burning within.
The ramen and the flavorings itself actually taste good, but people don’t really get to taste the chicken flavor as it is incredibly spicy and I somehow stop eating it.
After trying Samyang ramen, my lips are totally numbed and reddish, even after the spiciness gone. Drinking water or ice water doesn’t work, but you can try to drink milk. This is a MUST-TRY instant noodles for those who love spicy food! I personally prefer Hot Chicken Flavour Ramen Curry, as I am Malaysian who loves curry all the time.
#2 MyKuali Instant Noodle
The founder of MyKuali Instant Noodle was once a student who studying overseas, he often craves for his hometown food, especially Penang White Curry. He was then decided to come out with Penang White Curry instant noodles so that people can bring it to anywhere and solve their cravings. There are four types of instant noodles include Penang White Curry Noodle, Penang Hokkien Prawn Noodle, Red Tom Yum Goong Noodle, and MeeKuali Mee Goreng Pedas.
At first, I tried the soup of Penang White Curry, it gives a very strong curry scent. It actually tastes similar as the normal Penang White Curry that could be found in Penang hawker stall. I think it is the small packet of chilli paste that has the strong scent, it tastes like sambal.
I am so impressed by this Penang Curry Instant Noodle as it suits my taste and I love the strong curry scent. It is a mild spicy instant noodle. For those who can bear with spiciness, I would suggest you put lesser water to achieve a stronger and spicier curry scent.
My second choice will be Hokkien Prawn Noodle, it tastes exactly like the prawn noodle we get at Penang. It has a strong prawn scent.
#3 MAMA Minced Pork Instant Noodle
I got this Minced Pork Instant Noodle at Big C Supercenter, Thailand. Thai people called their Supermarket as Supercenter. If you are heading to Thailand, search for this Supercenter as it provides wide variety of famous Thailand snacks and instant noodles. It is a lot cheaper than getting it at 7-Eleven. Back to the topic, MAMA has various flavour instant noodles, I tried two flavours, which are Minced Pork and Tom Yum.
I would definitely go with Minced Pork! Firstly, the noodles are thin and chewy. Secondly, the soup has stewed pork bone taste which I really like it. Thirdly, I like how the minced pork taste. It’s more towards the marinated minced pork I usually had it at home. The minced pork is a nice addition to it.
Tom Yum is not my favourite due to it’s clear soup base. I personally prefer the “reddish or yellowish” tom yum soup in Malaysia.
#4 Kang Shi Fu Roasted Beef Instant Noodle
Master Kong (or Kang Shi Fu) is a well-known instant noodle brand in China. If you are looking for a good taste of broth, you can go for Roasted Beef. Kang Shi Fu has various flavors of instant noodle such as roasted pork, braised pork, chicken, spicy beef, assorted seafood, salted beef with mushroom and etc.
Despite I’m not a beef-lover, I still prefer roasted beef as it has a nice savory beef broth taste. This is one of the beef broth that I can bear with. The rehydrated carrots and cabbage would be a nice addition in the soup.
This is suitable for those who are looking for non-spicy yet nice broth instant noodles. My only concern is the oiliness of the broth. It would be perfect with less oily broth. You can find more spicy noodles on 99japan.com.
