Salted egg sounds tasty with just about anything, but somehow a controversy surrounding Mc Donald’s Salted Egg Yolk Fries has the company on its feet!
Which got us thinking, what if Malaysia created their own version of inspired fries instead? Here are some of our top 5 Malaysian inspired flavours of fries that we think would be uniquely delicious.
1. Nasi Lemak Fries
You’ve heard of the famous Nasi Lemak burger, but have you ever wondered what Nasi Lemak fries might taste like? Imagine the combination of flavorful fragrant fries with crushed anchovies as a replacement for salt with “sambal” and peanuts on the side. This could just be a match made in heaven!
2. Satay Sauce Fries
This could just be an interesting mix. Barbecued potato fries and served with a side dip of sliced onions and satay sauce!
3. Cendol Fries
Hear me out, it’s been spotted that dipping fries into Vanilla ice-cream is popular among fast-food goers, maybe Cendol could be next! Although, this could be taking it a little too far, but you’ll never know until you’ve tried it. Coconut milk, shaved ice, red beans and fries might perhaps be a good combination.
4. Rojak Fries
Rojak with a twist? A combination of one of Malaysia’s most popular salad dish with fries? This could just be a hit!
5. Roti Canai Fries
One of “Mamak’s” most popular breakfast food could go pretty well with fries! Fries drenched in chicken curry wrapped with roti canai could just be a unique combination. The dish could taste even better with a glass of Milo ice by your side! Maybe we could see this around at the “Mamak” stalls soon?
