With wedding season looming, here’s a list of 5 affordable rustic wedding favours you can hand out to your guests!
It is customary to thank your wedding guests for their attendance on your special day by giving them a small token. Wedding favours help your wedding guests keep a memory of the special occasion after they have gone home but wedding favours can take a big chunk out of your budget if you’re not careful, especially if you have a large wedding. We’ve saved you the trouble of looking for affordable wedding favours you can give your guests, without looking like you cheaped out.
1. Mini personalised candles (approximately RM2.1 each)
When we think of romance, we often think of candlelit dinners. Weddings are a chance to celebrate love, and what better way to celebrate love than to give something romantic they can use for themselves as a gift. Mini candles in glass jars are extremely affordable, with prices starting as low as RM2 if you look in the right places but a plain candle may look ordinary, and hold no significance after the celebration. We recommend buying personalised stickers with the bride and groom’s names and wedding date printed on. Sticking these on your candles will help your guests remember the event and can either be stored as a souvenir of the day or used by your guests.
2. Mini honey jars with honey dippers (approximately RM5 each)
Pure honey has a multitude of health benefits, and holds religious significance in both Islam and Christianity. A mini honey jar is a perfect gift to show your appreciation towards your guests by providing them with a healthy yet tasty treat. Buying mini jars of honey can quickly rack up costs, so we suggest bulk buying pure honey, mini jars and mini honey dippers separately, and filling up the jars yourself. Mini jars and mini honey dippers can be found online for around RM1 each, with pure honey costing around RM70 per kg, making the total cost around RM5 per wedding favour.
3. Test tubes of dried rose buds (approximately RM1.5 each)
Roses are often regarded as the symbolic flower for love. Dried rose buds can be used to make tea. Rosebud tea has a soothing, healing effect on the body and is high in antioxidants. We thought this idea of putting the rose buds into test tubes was so adorable and made perfect wedding favours. Test tubes with cork lids are available wholesale online for around RM1 each, and the dried rose buds come up to about 50c per wedding favour.
4. Bags of popcorn (approximately RM2.5 each)
Caramel popcorn is a loved snack, and provides your guests with something to snack on during the wedding, or can be taken back home with them. Best of all, it’s an incredibly cheap option. Cellophane bags can be found online for only a few cents each, whilst caramel popcorn can also be bought or made at affordable prices. You can tie up the bags with a cute ribbon matching your wedding colours, and add a customised sticker to make the gift more meaningful.
5. Mini succulents (approximately RM3 each)
As your love continues to grow with your marriage, the mini succulents you hand out to your guests as wedding favours will continue to grow with it. This wedding favour idea is a great option if you want something that will have a long life. This ensures that your guests will always have a reminder of your union.
