Our 21 years old Malaysian fighter has broken multiple records in his MMA career, making him such a prestigious athlete of our homeland. 1. Victim Of Bullying
Agilan Thani was once just like all of us, a soft spoken individual, overweight during his younger days thus gets bullied and people would call him names and make fun of him. Still, he didn’t just whine and cry as his dad taught him to handle his problems rather than just complain.
2. Inspirations in Martial Arts
Everyone needs a little inspiration to spice up their life. That is what Agilan got from watching a movie starring Donnie Yen. From then he has taken interest in martial arts, starting small in training kickboxing, karate and Muay Thai from the age of 13. Regardless, his biggest inspiration would be always his dad, who raised him up single-handedly, providing and nurturing with all the care and guidance that he needs in becoming the man he is today. His chosen career was initially not supported by his dad but it was his dad that bought Agilan his gloves and supporting all the cost of his training.
3. Ultimatum in Losing Weight
Agilan was overweight during his teenage years. He started off training karate at the age of 13 but to no avail in losing weight as he eats a lot during his younger days. Though, he strive on to work out and losing his weight by working in Monarchy MMA that he liaised in return for workout classes guided by professionals.

4. Struggles In Becoming The Alligator
Being abused, victimised and working only as a janitor at the Monarchy MMA and got paid at only RM1000 a month. Agilan Thani life is all but struggles entirely still it doesn’t stop him from becoming the man beast he is today. Having to transformed from the little boy who gets bullied all the time to the athlete he is today is really a remarkable tale of a thousand perseverance and determination.
5. Impressive Winning Records
Weighing at 180lbs, The Alligator started off his career wondrously as he hit a winning record of overcoming five competitors in Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) and an impressive seven victories during his stint in One Championship. His undefeated streak led him to challenge the undefeated Ben Askren for a title shot which he ultimately, came up short.
6. Love For His Father
Having raised by his father in his whole life, Agilan is no doubt having the tremendous respect and love for his father struggling in taking care of him all by himself, providing him with all the care and lessons he needed as well as support in Agilan for taking this ultimate level of his career in the world of martial arts and professional fighting. Thus, he is determined to fight for the honour of his dad and making him proud and continue on fighting for whatever battles to come.
