Our beautiful homeland of Malaysia has been a tourist attraction due to its diversity of different cultures, cuisines, and place of attractions. We have chilling nightlife, high rave parties, fantastic beaches and of course, some of the astonishing hills to climb to set your life ablaze on the amazing views of Malaysia. So these are some of the awesome hills to gaze upon the skies In our very own country.
1) Mount Nuang
Mount Nuang is not a platform to start for newbies hikers, as it is one of the highest mountains in Selangor and could be said as a challenging climb for most hikers out there. The journey to the peak of the mountain could take half a day, and that we haven’t include the journey back down, as the overall journey could take more than five hours. Expect lots of muddy surfaces and crossing rivers to reach to your destination but it will be worth it for the marvelous scenery at the peak point.
2) Broga Hill
A well-known climbing destination for leisure hikers, the journey to the top of Broga takes only less than an hour so do not worry about catching the sunrise if you arrive to the place early from your home. Feel free to have a hearty meal at anywhere after the exhausting climb as the town of Kajang is famous with amazing finger foods of delicious satays.
3) Saga Hill
Feel free to choose either the marked trail or rather challenging jungle trail to climb the hill in Cheras, which could take about four hours from and back. Take a relaxing dip at the waterfall to satisfy your journey by enjoying the beauty of nature.
4) Tabur Hill
Get a double taste of enjoying the scenic view as Bukit Tabur has the awesome treat of the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge and the breath-taking view of our capital Kuala Lumpur city. The time taken to get to the best view is just less than two hours, with a spectacular river sight waiting for you to capture your POTD.
5) Cameron Highlands Trails
Walking through the trails of Cameron Highlands is as though we are walking through the straights of The Shire or Hobbiton due to its magnificent pattern of the plantation, making it such a sight for sore eyes especially to fans of Lord of the Rings.
6) Mount Ophir
Also known as Gunung Ledang residing in Johor, is a must to challenge yourself to the tip of the mountain to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view but taking the lengthy time to reach of up to six hours. Expect many off tracks, rope-climbing, rock-climbing and best to have a warm-up and quick exercise before beginning the wondrous journey.
7) Mount Kinabalu
Take this as the Misty Mountains of Malaysia, where you would venturing the mountain of Kinabalu through days and nights with of course, accommodations provided at Laban Rata to rest off your legs and shoulders. You would need great stamina and cardio control and cover yourself in layers as it gets colder the higher you go! Make sure to get your camera, stand on the edge of a cliff with the clouds and sun in the background and snap one of the most memorable photos of yourself as this maybe a one-off highest hiking journey.
