Yes, you read that right folks. If you’re a fan of their inflight delights, then you’re in luck because you don’t have to hop on a flight just to get your hands on it!
The low cost airline group CEO, Tony Fernandes who was on the ‘Larry King Now’ show to promote his 2017 autobiography, “Flying High: My Story: From AirAsia to QPR” talked about his grand plan to open a fast-food restaurant that serves their diversified inflight dishes.
“I think our food is fantastic. We believe in it so much that we’re going to start a fast food restaurant out of it,” he said.
He went on to reveal that the restaurant will be named “Santan”, which is also the name of AirAsia’s inflight menu launched in 2015.
For those of you who don’t already know, their staple food from the menu,”Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak” usually sold like hotcakes on board. As a result, passengers are advised to pre-book their preferred meal of choice in advance to avoid such occurrence from happening.
As of now, no further details on when and where will the restaurant be opening have been disclosed yet. But, do expect an announcement regarding this piece of exciting news soon!
