What a jubilant weekend it was for the country as Malaysia celebrates her 62nd Independence Day! The spirit of unity was evident as Malaysians from all walks of life expressed their Patriotism through various platforms and acts. The highlight of the celebrations has got to be our National icons KLCC and KL Tower being illuminated in the colors of the Jalur Gemilang on famous KLCC Esplanade grounds.
The biggest 62nd Merdeka celebration began on the eve of or country’s Independence Day. Large crowds of eager citizens and curious foreign tourists gathered with anticipation for KLCC’s countdown party in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the iconic Twin Towers. The lineup of performances and acts leading up to the musical fireworks display at the stroke of midnight showcased numbers by popular local talents including Bunkface, Datuk David Amurugam and Khai Bahar.
Photographer, Daniel Dan who was doing his weekend photo walk around the area shared stunning pictures he shot with his Galaxy S9+ and a camera of the Towers dressed in the colors of the Jalur Gemilang on his Facebook account with the caption “Petronas Towers in Malaysian National Flag Colors. Merdeka Merdeka Merdeka.”
Fashion Valet hopped on the Merdeka bandwagon and released 3 new #FVMakanMana T-shirts of our favorite Malaysian hand gestures over the weekend on online and in all FashionValet stores. You can nab them here!
And of course, let’s see it from influencer Melissa Thng who literally displayed her public affection for the country! The spirit of Merdeka was well felt by everyone around. Very contagious, to say the least!
