Are you ready for TRICK or TREAT??? Tis’ the weekend to show em’ what you have up in your sleeves.
If you”re going to a Halloween party and already made plans to do your own make up but not sure how exactly, follow this simple, spooky steps to create a believable looking, living dead- the zombie!
Hang in there because it’s about to get bloody!
Things to prepare beforehand:
- Cotton (Any cotton will do)
- Glue (Latex Glue). Or you may DIY your own glue by using corn starch
- Paint (Water color/Acrylic paint)
- Make up (Eye Shadow) – dark brown or black color eye shadow
1. Getting the perfect shade of blood
This is not as complicated as it seems. All you have to do is just follow your heart. Mix and match away until your get your desired shade of blood.
Daler Rowney Acrylic Paint was used in the picture above.
2. Scar your face without actually scarring them
Apply enough glue on areas which you’d like your scar to be, then layer on some cottons on the said area. Depending on how much glue was used, it should take only 10 minutes to dry before moving on to the next step.
3. Werk the zombie tone
This is the best time to level up your smokey eye game. Think pale, sick looking complexion. You may also add some fine lines onto your skin because after death, they should look at least dry and wrinkly.
4. Creating the base for your wound.
Once the cotton patch dries up, it’s time to blend the colors away. Don’t be afraid of getting the colors wrong. If you are using acrylic paint, you can just conceal the wrong color with a fresh coat on top when it’s dry. Blend them away until you achieve your desired outcome of an open flesh.
P/s: It’s ok if the color is messy, it’s meant to be dirty. That’s the fun part about it.
Continue to apply Darker Maroon and Maroon color as the second layer. This time around, don’t wait till it’s dry before your add on some black color to achieve the clotted blood effect.
While waiting for it to dry, get changed!
5. Blend away
After all the layering, the final look of the scar should look something like this… To create a more realistic look, apply some black eye shadow all over your face to look dirty.
Last but not least, add some more fake blood on the scar to make it as if blood is still oozing out from your flesh wound.
Here’s the aftermath:
