When travel, fashion and food come together, Edeline How is the first person we think of!
Salutations to this full-time Instagrammer & blogger; curating content of everything interesting in her life.
Hi Edeline! Introduce yourself to our readers!
Hey there! Just a little about me, I’m Chinese with a little Nyonya in me. When I was 13 years old, I was sent away for studies. Honestly, I didn’t know what I was thinking.. After graduating with a double major in commerce I moved back to Malaysia hoping that the working culture can give me that extra challenge in life. So I got a part time job as a cafe barista while job hunting, then landed a full time job with Dior (Fashion) and decided that it’s not for me so I moved on to a publishing company, which I truly enjoyed as it has given me the opportunity to challenge myself everyday!
Just a year ago, I left publishing knowing that I could draw a comparable income from blogging and through my social media channels. Though it’s unstab- it’s a good way to learn and constantly push myself into doing things outside of my comfort zone.
What do you do full time?
Self-employed and pretty much an all-rounder. From modelling to content creating and a part time foodie, which has given me the opportunity to host a few workshops.

What is a typical day in your life?
No day is typical or ever the same for me, but generally, I try to get up early to get my exercise in and review my to-do list. I then make breakfast and try to slip in a coffee run to get my much needed caffeine kick. Work (from home or outside of home when I have a photoshoot or meeting). Update my Instagram and catch up on business emails. I’m a bit of a night owl, so I putter around the house doing bits and pieces of various things.
What are you passionate about?
Food and cooking. Food is rooted in my upbringing; my grandmother is a great cook and I love to eat. I guess the main reason why I love to cook is because there’s no right or wrong answer to it. You can always keep a balance by adding a pitch of this or that.
Love your feed! What’re your favourite editing apps?
Colour Story and VSCO.
As an avid traveler, do you have any budget-friendly tips?
1. Always plan ahead.
2. Hop on Skyscanner to get the cheapest deal for flight tickets
3. Download XE Currency app on your phone in order to check the currency exchange rates even without internet connection.
4. Tripadvisor is my best friend when it comes to hotel scouting. Don’t rush, but give yourself enough time to hunt for the best deals (always read the reviews and rating! It’s important!)
Which country do you love the most?
To date.. it will be France!
Do you have any idols?
I am a huge fan of Gary Pepper Girl! (Nicole Warne)
Any life mottos?
Tough times never last, but tough people always do.
Who is your all time inspiration in life?
This is tough. There isn’t a specific person that falls under my ‘all time inspiration’ because I get inspired by people along my walk of life. Be it people younger than me or more successful than me. We all can get inspired by something small, somewhere unexpected or somebody you don’t know.
What is the ideal weekend for you?
Have coffee, enjoy food and be with my family or friends.
Tell us what makes you smile the most?
Travel, family, and good friends. Oh and not to forget, food!
Where do you see yourself in 2 years’ time?
I’m not a big fan of foreseeing my future as I enjoy living in present more than worrying where I will be in 2 years, 5 years or even 10 years. But of course, we all need to have at least a goal in order to work towards it. Thus, I really want to have a career that I will enjoy doing for the next few years and I guess I will go with the flow.
