Parkour is a training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Having been in Malaysia for more than 10 years, it wasn’t until the movie Casino Royale (2006) which featured a death-defying freerunning chase that catch on the sport amongst daredevils.
Here are a few of the artists that you should check out! You can find them on instagram and check out their moves.
1. Abudi Alsagoff (@abudialsagoff)
2. Talitha Tan (@talithabe)
Talitha first got introduced to parkour when she was working part-time at a trampoline park during college. She started training with Malaysian teams like AOXM (Art of Extreme Movements) and The Alpha Movements. Since then, she fell in love with the sport.
With sports like parkour, you don’t see a lot of girls doing it. So, you go, girl!
3. Abir Kot (@abirkot)
Abir picked up the sport about seven years ago, and he has been performing the parkour professionally for five years now. Along with Abudi, they found the Alpha Parkour Movement, which is a professional parkour group in 2012 when he saw that there was a rising demand for the extreme sports in Malaysia.
4. Faiz Paeh (@faizpaehh)
Faiz is from Ipoh city and he has been practising parkour since 2011 and he has become a well-known local athlete with his flow and clean movement.
5. Hazlami (@lameymon)
That skills though!
Not for the faint-hearted, some may find it hard to watch these artists get done and dusted with their tricks. If you’re one of those who are deeply intrigued with parkour, practice makes perfect, but don’t forget to seek for guidance.
Have fun!
