Did you know that the latest gold medal was successfully acquired by the talented gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi in the women’s individual all-around event just 2 days ago on Monday? Wow!
Meanwhile, Farah also retained her gold medal in the floor exercise event on the final day of the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games artistic gymnastics competition 2 years ago. Once again, congratulations to the artistic gymnast Farah!
Besides, here are the other athletes who have achieved gold medals in their sports category:
1. Loh Choon How (Wushu)
The Malaysian contingent is having a great headstart at the SEA Games with Wushu exponent Choon How in winning the country’s first gold, just a day after the opening ceremony.
The 26-year-old Wushu artist earned a total of 9.680 points, which defeated his closest rival from Brunei, who obtained 9.560 for the silver medal. Daniel Parantac from the Philippines won the Bronze medal.
2. Lego Sam Jee Lek (Dancesport)
The 24-year-old breakdancer became the first-ever SEA Games gold medalist in the dance category breakdancing as the dancesport was only introduced as an official competitive sporting event this year.
3. Julian Yee (Figure Skating)
Congratulations to Julian again for retaining another gold.
Previously, Julian won at the 2017 SEA Games in the men’s single figure skating event, wow!
4. Yuga Sazlan and Mohd Taqiyuddin Hamid (Pencak Silat)
Pencak silat athletes Yuga and Taqiyuddin beat both the Philippines and Laos to grab gold in the men’s artistic doubles event, tahniah!
5. Amran Selamat, Tengku Ahmad Shazril Ezzani, Rashid Hasnan, and Syed Ahmad Saipulrudin (Polo)
We didn’t know that polo is part of the SEA Games as well! This year, the national polo squad defeated the Philippines to maintain their status as defending champions in the 4-6 high goal event.
6. Afiqah Dayana Budiman, Nur Ain Nabilah Tarmizi, Syafiqa Haidar Afif, and Siti Zalina Ahmad (Lawn Bowling)
Wow! Malaysia impressively swept three gold medals all at once in lawn bowling. Afiqah, Nabilah, Syafiqa, and Siti Zalina started the ball rolling with a win in the women’s fours event.
7. Emma Firyana Saroji and Nurul Alyani Jamil (Lawn Bowling)
Emma and Alyani also snatched gold in women’s pairs.
8. Mohamad Fairus Abdul Jabal, Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple, and Mohammad Syamil Syazwani Raml (Lawn Bowling)
The men completed and achieved a triple win in the men’s triples event.
8. Malaysia’s National Netball Team (Netball)
This is the national netball team clinched gold with a stunning 48-42 win over Singapore. Plus, this is also the team’s third gold in 4 SEA Games since netball was introduced to the event, that’s amazing!
