Green Lantern fans, there is a silver lining even in the darkest of nights!
A Green Lantern reboot is still a priority for Warner Bros. after it’s 2011 film was a critical and commercial failure. Eager to correct their pasts, the studio announced a reboot in 2015 for a release date of 24 July 2020, but no word has come out of it.
Warner Bros. and DC plan to revisit characters they believe were ill-served by previous big-screen adventures such as #GreenLantern https://t.co/YYM6NSctLB pic.twitter.com/ZZgY0dnznF

They’ve got someone strong to back this time.
Geoff Johns, who is a comic book writer for several Green Lantern comics is penning down the script for the film. He has been hired to write since June 2018. In the 2011 film, he only served as a producer capacity.
The reboot this time is called “Green Lantern Corps” and he plans to deliver the script to the studio by the end of the year. The story will reportedly tell an old Hal Jordan teaching John Stewart as the most iconic Lanterns.
With Geoff Johns on board, this seems to be a much better Green Lantern film compared to the 2011 one. We got a writer who is a creator of several Green Lantern comics, which means he knows the source!
According to Variety, Johns will deliver the script to the studio by the end of the year. It remains to be seen on how the studio receives it. J.J Abram’s production company, Bad Robot may get involved. If everything goes well, we may see our Green Lantern finally getting the proper treatment it deserves.
