A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….
There lived the tale of the epic galactic space war between the evil Empire and the Rebel scum, the raging war that has been since before the Clone Wars in the prequels. 40 years of Star Wars, and beyond, as Disney has recently announced a new trilogy and more movies to be expected to come. Hitting the cinemas in the month of the Christmas spirit, The Last Jedi promises to drop the bombshell on plot twists and surprises and seeing the teaser and trailer, things about to go wild on our heroes. What could we expect from the sequel to The Force Awakens? Here goes…
1) The Knights of Ren
We haven’t seen the appearance of the evil mysterious warriors lead by Supreme Leader Snoke but seeing them in Rey’s vision, it seems like they are not the ones to mess with looking at their savage, sadistic figure along with Kylo “emo” Ren. We will probably get to know on their history with Snoke and would be up to no good to Rey, Luke and Finn.
2) Rey Kenobi?
The Skywalker family has always been the focus of the Star Wars saga. Rey’s parentage has yet to be known and to find out that she is a Skywalker would be too predictable. It’s time to move away from the family that caused the war for ages and Rey would be very well suited as a descendant of Kenobi seeing that her outfit symbolises our friendly neighbourhood Obi-Wan and even his voice could be heard from her vision. With the Obi-Wan standalone film in the works, the Jedi with the high ground would fit well in the storyline.
3) A Familiar Face
Expect someone familiar to join the fray in the nostalgic sequel, perhaps Obi-Wan or even our little green friend. Rumour has it way from The Force Awakens, Anakin’s Force ghost was considered to make an appearance with Hayden Christensen reprising the role. Perhaps that could true this time?
4) Who is the Supreme Leader?
So many theories have come up regarding the identity of the Supreme Leader “Who is that?”. From the stormtrooper that bumped his head back from the original trilogy to Mace Windu and Darth Vader himself. No. Definitely not Vader. He was the saviour of the galaxy. It’s what he was known for and should stay that way. Perhaps Snoke is the Emperor after all judging from his disfigured appearance after being thrown to the pit by Vader? Or perhaps a new villainous character with a hidden agenda?
5) The Bro-ventures of Finn and Poe
Poe and Finn. Resistance pilot and First Order stormtrooper. Brotherhood goals. What a time to be alive as a Star Wars geek to see both the fighters of the opposite sites having the best relationship ever. Expect more adventures to come with the brotherly duo!
6) Rey Is Bae
She’s my bae. Next to Felicity Jones. She won’t be succumbed to the dark side as seen in the trailer, where she needed someone to show her destiny and Kylo Ren was there, holding out his hand in what seems like he will be guiding her to the path of darkness. Nope. Rey is a sweetheart. And the light in my heart. Piss off, Kylo.
7) Duel of the Fates
What is Star Wars without the duel of lightsabers? Kylo will be all healed up and completed his training as the leader of the Rens. Rey or Luke will get in a lightsaber duel with the son of Han Solo and his enigmatic crossguard lightsaber. I just want the theme of Duel of the Fates to be played along the fight to satisfy my eargasm.
8) A Farewell To The General
It was an emotional lost to the hearts of the Star Wars troops hearing the passing of Carrie Fisher. Rian Johnson will surely provide an emotional farewell of General Leia in ending her stint in the Star Wars universe and it will be well received. Nonetheless, the iconic role of Princess Leia will always be the soul of Star Wars and beyond.
