Popcorn time, but with more rules.
Good news! Cinema operators have finally been given the green light to open their doors to the public again. This would be the first time they will be open since the implementation of MCO on 18th March.
But, of course, we are still in RMCO, so there will be some strict guidelines as to how things will be run in the cinemas now.

Here are the standard operating procedures (SOP) you need to know before heading to the cinemas!
- Children aged 12 and below and adults aged 60 and above are not allowed to enter the premises.
- Cinema-goers and staff must provide contact details to facilitate contact tracing. It is encouraged that citizens use the MySejahtera App.
- Anyone with temperatures above 37.5ºC will not be allowed to enter.
- Patrons are encouraged to use hand sanitizers provided as often as possible.
- Patrons are also required to wear a face mask.
- Social distancing will also be implemented in the cinemas. Patrons are only allowed to sit at designated seats in the halls, and queue along the markers.
- Cinema operators must clean and disinfect cinema hall after every screening.
The SOPs are in place so we can continue to flatten the curve and keep our country and its citizens healthy and safe.
Cinema operation hours will also be changing when reopening. Here is the updated cinema operation timing!
