And they have no plans to take off quietly.
What started off as a shared interest in high school, to defeating Maroon 5 in the US Billboard charts with their song “Feel Good”, homegrown band Paperplane Pursuit is concluding its time in the spotlight after a decade, with their Final Flight farewell concert happening on the 28th September.
The band consist of of four members- John O, Dru Yap, Isaac Ravi, and The Chief. The band started their journey with humble beginnings, having handled pretty much everything by themselves. From recording songs to marketing them, they faced great adversity paving their path to the fame that they have achieved today.
Their hardwork is not without making Malaysians proud. One of their achievements came in 2015, when their single “Feel Good” beats Maroon 5 on the US Billboard chart in its 6th week, joining the ranks of One Direction, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato on the top 40. Within days, they rose to the 30th position. That means more radio stations keep requesting for the song to be played and played more often Wow Malaysia Boleh!
During the course of 10 years, the band has released a couple of albums and singles – Malaysia 2.0 in 2011, Higher in 2014 and Second Date in 2017. As the band will be retiring this September 2019, they just released their final album
titled “Final Flight” which includes two new singles; ‘DanceMan’ and ‘My Friends’. The songs are a parting gift to their fans and everyone who has helped get the band to where they are today.
