The British singer-songwriter will be bringing his “Afterlove World Tour” to the country in support of the release of his fifth studio album, The Afterlove, in March 2017.
James Blunt shot to stardom in 2004 with his first studio album, titled “Back to Bedlam” with his best known hits like “You’re Beautiful” and “Goodbye My Lover”. The album was well received internationally with over 11 million copies sold worldwide, landed at #2 spot in the US, ruled the UK Albums Chart and was also one of the best selling in the UK in the 2000s.
Since then, he has won several awards like two British Awards, MTV Video Awards, Ivor Novello Awards, 5 Grammy Award nominations, sold over 20 million albums and singles worldwide. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate for Music two years ago by University of Bristol.
Apart from being an entertainer, he was a former reconnaissance officer for the British army prior to his music career! The 43-year-old performer was posted to be the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment in London, as the Queen’s guard in November 2000 when he extended his military service. Also, he was there with the Queen Mother during her lying in state at her funeral procession in 2002.
Besides Malaysia, other Asian countries he will be visiting includes Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and China. The Afterlove Tour will be his first show after his extensive Moon Landing Tour back in 2014 to 2015 where he completed 140 shows over the world over the course of one year. James Blunt will be performing at Genting Highlands Resort Arena on 25th March 2018. The time and ticketing details are yet to be released. So, be sure to stay tuned!
