Patriotism is at an all time high, folks.
All us Malaysians know that if we had to round it up to two things that epitomize Malaysian culture, it’s easily our double parking skills and our clearly superior cuisine. As we locals eloquently put it – syiok giler, ok?
Although we’re all no stranger to how good Malaysian food is, we have to admit we didn’t quite expect it to be published in an infamous superhero comic.
The tenth issue of ‘New Mutants’ by Flaviano and Ed Brisson portrays Glob, a transparent alien whipping up himself a hearty bowl of laksa on the stove.
Ookaaayy Malaysians. FYI in this week’s issue of New Mutants they mentioned laksa being prepared by Glob… and there’s a data page with a recipe for vegetarian laksa… using ramen noodles. #XSpoilers

When another character asked Glob about the ‘New Mutants’, Glob replied “I was making them laksa for dinner, and now there’s no one here to eat it.”
Don’t worry Glob, we’ll drop by to help you scarf down your delicious bowl of homemade laksa!
Netizens were even quick to adapt the dish to suit a vegetarian diet.

Not many countries can say that their cuisine is X-Men approved – so Malaysia, hold your head up high.
