It’s finally New Year’s Eve! Whether you’re still on holiday or working hard at work, New Year’s Eve is somewhat a bittersweet day of the year where most (if not all) of us reflect upon the last 365 days of 2019.
This is the day where we gather our thoughts and give a mental rating on how our year has been- the good, the bad, or the mediocre. Whichever it was for you, the past is a place of reference for your future self; focus only at the right lessons it presents you, then you shall emerge stronger and better than ever.
As the famous quote that goes like this: “reader lives a thousand lives before he dies…”, learning from others’ life experiences may prevent you from making the same mistakes. With this essence in mind, the team from Sevenpie has reached out to real Malaysian people (some you may recognize from social media) to share about how 2019 has been to them. With their stories and real life experiences, we hope that this new found wisdom will inspire you to be the best version of yourself to usher in the brand new year and decade!
So sit back and enjoy because these are the few final worthy reads of 2019!

Patience! Patience has helped me overcome a lot of stuffs throughout this year and I’m glad I had it. Things are so much better now. Good things come to those who wait!
4. Who, or what, are you most thankful for this year?
I’m very thankful for this year because it’s truly an eye opener for me. I thank all the new friends I made this year! They’ve changed my life a lot, there’s good and bad but the new friends I made are all truly amazing. They’re there for me me a lot throughout my darkest days. I cannot be more thankful for their presence.
5. If someone were to write a book, song or even make a movie about your life in 2019, what kind of genre would it be?

6. As the year comes to an end, what are some of the important lessons about your life that you’ve learned that you would like to share with our readers.
What I’ve learned from this year is that not everyone is made for you. It’s going to be hard for you to understand and accept that at first. I used to think that it’s the end of me and that there would be nothing else like it. But I believe the universe has an amazing way of telling and showing you things. It’s going to be hard at first but it always gets better! God has better plans for me and for all of us! Always be patient.
7. What would you like to say to your 2019 self before we close this chapter in life?
I would say, it’s time for you to be happy now! Leave all negativity and unnecessary stuffs and just be happy. Other people’s opinion doesn’t matter.
8. A new year and a new decade is upon us. Now tell us, what is that one main thing that you would like to achieve in 2020.
I stopped believing in new years resolutions because it never happened for me! Haha, so I would like to go with the flow instead. But, I would probably want to be more productive and I want to travel more!
9. What would you like to say to your future self as we step into the brand new year?
I’d say, “I hope all the good things you have is going to be a permanent happiness & that no matter what, you’re going to continue being strong.”

I’ve learnt that #1. stepping out of your comfort zone helps to boost self-confidence and strengthen your belief in yourself, #2. people don’t care as much as you think they would, so there’s no need to be too concerned about how other people think about you or what you do, and finally #3. people (friends) come and go, and that’s ok! Don’t waste time running after people.
7. What would you like to say to your 2019 self before we close this chapter in life?
You’ve done well this year, so be proud! *pats self on the back*
