If you’ve heard of this funny man or you’ve ever been to one of his stand up shows, then you’ll know what this means. Just a word of advice for first timers- be sure to prep your stomach because it will end up hurting (in a good way) from all the laughter by the end of the show (you’ve been warned).
His iconic punch lines like “Someone’s gonna get hurt real bad” and “Be a man! Do the right thing!” has got many people hooked and that includes his fans from around the globe. Even though, Russell usually uses racial, ethnic and cultural stereotype as humor, he isn’t racist as he would poke fun of his own as well.
Besides doing stand ups, he has ventured into the acting scene, having appeared in many films. In 2013, he became the first comedian to have his own Netflix stand up special called Notorious. Just last year, he also produced and starred in his own comedy drama series for Netflix, The Indian Detective which aired on December 19th 2017.
It will be the Canadian award winning comic’s third time in Kuala Lumpur. He first performed in 2012 for his Notorious World Tour, where 16,000 tickets for two days were sold out in a matter of hours, making it the fastest selling comedy shows in Malaysia! Tickets for his Almost Famous World Tour in 2015 too were sold out with 90% of tickets purchased in 24 hours.
Brought to you by PR Worldwide, Lol Events and AEG, he will be at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on March 2 (Friday) at 8:30 pm as part of his Deported World Tour. What fans can expect from the upcoming tour are all new material, his signature interactions with the audience and a feature appearance of one of David Letterman’s favorite comics, Jake Johanssen.
Tickets have gone on sale since the end of last year and are priced at RM 198, RM 298 and RM 398. Fortunately, there are still some left that are up for grabs via here . So, it better be sold out completely before his show or else someone’s gonna get hurt real bad.
