Night gathers and now my watch for Season 7 begins, it shall not end until the last episode. I shall free my time, hold no homework and missed an episode. I am the watcher on my couch, I am the one who holds and controls the tv remote. I am the one who still hopes for the slightest chance for the return of Stannis the Mannis. I pledge my life and honor to Game of Thrones, for this night and all the nights to come. Winter is finally here… and we sound off on who is the best possible candidate to be granted a seat on the Iron Throne.
1. The Lone Wolf Howls
He may be assumed as a bastard child of Ned Stark, but Jon Snow indeed has the blood of Stark and Targaryen as fans have been speculating the R+L theory for years making him a prime candidate to claim on the Iron Throne. Following the footsteps of Ned Stark, Jon Snow truly resembles his father as in appearance and his honorable heart in doing the best for the realm and the kingdom. With his accomplishment in becoming the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch and being the King in the North, Jon Snow has the experience and nobility needed to rule the seven kingdoms. As the saying goes, when winter comes, you will only hear the wolves howling in the night.
2. Death On The Throne
Winter is upon us as the dead marches closer to the Wall since the very first episode of Season One. The long-awaited Whitewalkers will soon attack the Night’s Watch and bring damnation to both the Northerners and Southerners. What remains of their purpose and agenda is still unknown, perhaps it is for the Iron Throne as well. Game of Thrones is not a fairy tale for sure and we might be treated with an agonising ending in the conclusion of the story. Will the Iron Throne be the Ice Throne in the end?
3. The Slick Mockingbird
The infamous player who started the pieces of Game of Thrones by killing Jon Arryn that eventually sparks the feud between the Starks and Lannisters thus culminates all the houses in chaos all for the one specific throne. Not only that, he executes the malevolent plan alongside Lady Olenna to poison Joffrey in his wedding, gasping in excruciating pain in his mother’s arm. Petyr Baelish makes no secret that he wants the Iron Throne for himself along with Sansa by his side. With his slick devilish strategies and the Knights of the Vale backing him up, one mustn’t surprise he will be the one sitting on the Iron Throne.
4. The Last Dragon
The last Targaryen has been through a tremendous journey from being the innocent girl by her brother side to the ruler of Meereen with major houses and armies by her side in her mission in reclaiming her true right for the Iron Throne. With the forces of the Unsullied, Dothraki, Ironborn, Dornish men and the Tyrells backing the Khaleesi up, Cersei has got to be ready for the greatest battle the South has ever seen in Westeros and facing Daenerys Targaryen head up.
5. The Fallen Baratheon
My knee… It’s still bending on its own to the One True King till this very day. Anyone who bashes him I shall destroy them. As a true fan of Stannis the Mannis, I will never forgive him for burning his own flesh and blood for putting his trust on Melisandre. He was a true king regardless, perhaps the only king who came to the aid of the Night’s Watch in battling the Wildlings and cares for what lies beyond the Wall. He may be last seen beheaded by Brienne and his death was confirmed by the Boltons and directors, I truly believe that last legit Baratheon is not dead as he is killed off-screen, opening the doors for him to return.
6) The Forgotten Baratheon
Row, row, row your boat Gendry down the sea, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily right from Season 3…If you think that we have last seen the Baratheons on the field of Game of Thrones then you’re wrong. The last living soul of Baratheon could have a major play in the wars to come as he set to return in the great games as seen on set. Could the forgotten house of stag reclaim the precious seat of the seven kingdoms?
7) No One
“It doesn’t matter whose skeleton sits on the Iron Throne” another badass line by Ser Freaking Davos. Game of Thrones is no stranger in dropping the bombshell and twist and who knows the Iron Throne will be demolished in the end leaving each kingdom with their own kings and rulers or, everyone dies fighting the wights and Whitewalkers (What?? Jon Snow dies again?)
