Directed by Tang Seng Kiat, Shuttle Life is a Malaysian produced film which depicts the lives of an impoverished family of three whose life gets into deeper crisis after a night of unfortunate events. Cast appearances during Shuttle Life Gala Screening @ eCurve, Mutiara Damansara
Spearheaded by Asia’s cinematography all-stars player, award-winning Taiwanese filmmaker Sylvia Chang; Malaysian singer-actor Jack Tan (one half of Malaysia’s pop duo, Thomas Jack), as well as the endearing Angel Chan, Shuttle Life perfectly encapsulates the raw and uncensored struggles of those who are lack of education and influence which subsequently finds themselves at the pit bottom of the social hierarchy.
Belted with several notable accolades from the recent Shanghai International Film Festival back in June, Shuttle Life also received a few nominations from Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival. To Asian film noobies out there, Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival is Asia’s equivalent to the Academy Awards. So, it’s pretty much a big deal.
Do look out for familiar spots throughout the movie as this film was shot in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysian Chinese film actress and pop singer, Angelica Lee Sin-Je was at the gala screening to show her support to her mentor, Silvia Chang.
Shutter Life is now showing in cinemas nationwide. A must watch!
