It’s a workday. You wake up, you’re groggy and tired. What’s the first thing you do? Reach to the new Keurig B145 you bought last week! Ever heard of the expression “Don’t talk to me till I’ve had my coffee.”? It’s there for a reason, we get pretty wild without our coffee. Whether you enjoy your coffee as an energy booster or as someone who is truly a coffee connoisseur, we’ve got some amazing news! Starbucks announced a few months ago that it was launching it’s first ever Starbucks Reserve in Malaysia!
But what even is that? And why now? We’ll, the concept of Starbucks Reserve first started in the United States back in back in 2011, the idea was to offer premium and rare coffee beans that are only available at the store! That’s right, it means that you cant just walk into any Starbucks and get the same beans, it’s exclusively RESERVED for Starbucks Reserve.
Makes sense right?
What’s so different about it?
Well aside from the fact that they have exclusive beans, and only having minimal amount of branches around the world, both the exterior and interior is more than enough to make guests stare in awe with their mouths wide open as their standard bright colours and happy mood is replaced with a more calm and cozy feel. The baristas there are all experts in their crafts as well, as they literally have to go through a six-month process that certifies their knowledge, skill and ability to share what they know about coffee. Their coffee ambassador also conducts workshops and speaks to corporate clients and partners about coffee. So pretty big shot la ok?
Record sales
On their first day of opening, Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company managing director Sydney Quays said that Starbucks Reserve in Malaysia hit the record for the highest number of pour over coffee across all Starbucks’ Asian stores with 254 cups in ONE DAY! How could you ever say we don’t like our coffee?
Back to the beans
“The drink’s reserve beans are seasonal and only available in small batches as they are grown in small farms. New blends are introduced regularly – over every three months or so,” Said Quay.
Aside from enjoying your exclusive and special beans at a Starbucks with an entirely different comfy feel, you could also opt for a pour over coffee which was best put by Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company Public affairs and digital strategy senior manager Salleharon Ahmad as “The pour over coffee offers customers the option of customising their coffee. They can even ask to sample the drink, without having to buy a full cup,”.
Knowing us Malaysians, free coffee for me please!
Starbucks Reserve can be found in The Gardens Mall for now, with plans for another Starbucks Reserve store in Klang Valley is in sights.
