Here’s some tea for you to sip on.
Just earlier today Tati Westbrook uploaded a video onto the online streaming platform that quickly gained traction on the Internet. Westbrook claims in the video that her ex-friends and fellow YouTube stars Jefree Star and Shane Dawson had ‘manipulated’ her into being the instigator of an industry-wide scandal within the beauty community in May 2019.
Westbrook’s notoriously viral video, “Bye Sister” led to what netizens dubbed “Dramageddon 2.0”, which spoke of allegations of YouTuber James Charles’ predatory actions.
Jefree Star at the time also took it upon himself to speak on the drama. Although, it was argued that Star also did not substantiate many of his claims with evidence.

Upon the eruption of the drama that ensued, Charles lost millions of subscribers on his platforms but he has since regained them.
Westbrook told her followers that they had each since forgiven one another and that “Bye Sister” was one of her biggest regrets.
In her recent video, Westbrook said that both Star and Dawson “used, coerced, and manipulated” her into making the “Bye Sister” video in May 2019 that sparked the whirlwind of controversy within the community.
In a 40-minute video, Tati Westbrook apologizes to @JamesCharles, says @ShaneDawson & @JeffreeStar manipulated her into making “Bye Sister” video:
“I am really sorry James … I made it as a result of all the poisonous lies that were fed to me by Shane Dawson & Jeffree Star.” pic.twitter.com/d3pMwtaiPP

“Since that night, James Charles has repeatedly said that he wanted to be beside me for this video. But I felt it was important that I do it alone, because he deserves my first apology,” Westbrook said. “And I am really sorry, James. And I’ve said that privately, but I want you to hear it publicly.”
“I did not lie in that video. I never called James Charles a predator, and I never said that James Charles was a danger to society,” Westbrook said. “My video was not made with any malice. I did not publicly air any of the horrific accusations that were being made behind the scenes.”
Shane Dawson takes to Instagram Live to respond to Tati Westbrook’s new YouTube video saying Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star manipulated her into making “Bye Sister” against James:
“This is insane. This is insane…you are SO manipulative! You are fake crying! That is not real!” pic.twitter.com/Uq2W584VR9

In the video, Westbrook also apologized to Jackie Aina, a fellow YouTuber who had publicly cut of ties with Star over his racist comments in the past.
“I got it twisted that you had provoked Jeffree because you were angry that I had filmed with someone who had a history of being labeled by others as a racist,” Westbrook said. “Jackie, I’m sorry that I did not do the right thing and walk away from him then.”

“I’ve told you everything that I can right now. The remainder will be handled privately or at a time that I choose to speak publicly on it again,” Westbrook said. “To the incredible people who watch my videos because they love makeup as much as I do, I’m so sorry that this situation caused so much pain and frustration,” Westbrook ended her 40 minute long video with an apology to her fans.
