As much as we love the days where we could sleep late and wake up even later, it’s time to get back to reality.
You’ve leveled-up in life– welcome to college. It is definitely not how you imagined it to be or how your school teachers warned you about.
But due to the pandemic, other students might enroll in an online school like the military friendly online colleges and that is also a good option. For example, those who are planning to work in the medical field may take Online Medical Coding Courses. Most of these online schools, whether an online high school or college, use an online exam proctoring software to protect the security and integrity of their exams so they can truly assess the students’ learning and development. Plus, the students may still meet different types of people during their online classes. And to better prepare for college life, you have the option to attend a college preparatory school first.
You’re excited, aren’t you? Got your student ID, new bag and stationeries and planned outfits – you’re ready to go. Enjoy your sleep while it lasts, young one.
But for now, here are some students you will DEFINITELY meet in college:
1. Latecomer
Even if it’s the first day, a latecomer wouldn’t change their ways and magically show up on time. They’ll enter in the middle of the class – either when the lecturer is teaching or when it’s break time. They might even make up an excuse like finding parking, traffic was bad, lift was not working and way more.
2. Goody-two-shoes
Basically a teacher’s pet. They’ll always sit in front or in the vicinity of the lecturer – asking questions, answering questions and will probably do anything to get on the lecturer’s good side.
3. Smarty pants
The one that knows everything. She/he is basically the second lecturer and everyone goes to them if they got any questions. They’re always a WhatsApp text away.
Sometimes they’ll even correct a lecturer and most of the time they are right.
4. Master debater
They probably say they didn’t study but get 99/100 in a test or a 4 pointer CGPA. Most of them are pretty stingy with knowledge so they’re not the best to go to for a mini tutoring session.
5. High achiever
6. Freeloader
They’ll never fail a subject, they’ll never get bad marks – because they leach on to those who do their work for them. They get into the groups with the students who are known for getting their work done, so they wouldn’t have to.
Tip: Tell your lecturer about the freeloader in your group. You wouldn’t want someone getting the same marks as you but not doing even quarter of the work you’ve done – it’s not a nice feeling.
7. Miss/Mister Popularity
She/he knows everyone. Everywhere they go, you’re going to hear hi and hello from every corner of the campus. Most of them are super nice, so don’t judge a book by its cover.
8. Campus camper
They’re always in college – library, sports practice, events or just to chill at college. It’s like they live there.
During final season they’ll be in the library until midnight and you’ll see them early in the morning preparing.
9. Class clown
The one that makes the class laugh – or cringe. They’ll make a joke out of everything and lighten the class during ungodly 8am classes.
10.Ultimate foodie
You smell the Indomee in class? It’s probably coming from the foodie that brings in a full course meal into class. They make you wanna get out to get your own bowl of noodles too.
11. Sleepy head
No matter the time of class, they will be the ones with heads glued to the table, sleeping. No matter how interesting the subject may be, you better bet that they will make that table a makeshift pillow.
12. Gym buff
These are easy to spot. They’re super buff and fit and know all the ins and outs and terminology of exercising.
13. Blur blur
The one that does not know anything, at all. He/she has no idea what’s going on and is clueless on what to do all the time. ‘What to do?’ is their favorite phrase.
14. Miss/Mister Do-everything
They’ll never trust anyone to do their group work. They’ll take on every task in the group assignment and will probably only let you do the slides or minor report.
15. Invisible Woman/Man
You’re not going to see them often – they’re never in class. Probably going to only show up for tests and finals.
College is a rollercoaster of ups and downs – sleepless nights, rushed assignments, bad days and more but the memories you’re going to make with amazing people are going to be some of the best ones of your life!
Tell us, which one of these students are you?
