Adidas Originals is debuting a new silhouette for the Lunar Year of the Dog.
Dubbed as ‘The NMD Racer’, part of the forthcoming Urban Racing pack is set to released in early 2018 alongside the new NMD R1 Primeknit STLT.
1. NMD Racer
First, let’s talk about the NMD Racer. With the rise of love for the 80s, it’s inspired by 80s running silhouettes. The Racer spots a stripped-back design with a whole new construction that incorporates classic ideals with the aesthetics and elements of the NMD that people have come to love.
The facelift features the recognizable NMD blocks in a different location – from the sides to the heel. New inserts are added to the sneaker’s arch, for style as well stability. The upper somewhat resembles the Ultra Boost uncaged, due to its smoother upper. It features a new suede heel panel as well.
The first colorway of the NMD Racer PK is “Core Black”. It’s primarily monochromatic and has that typical NMD colorway – a black Primeknit upper and white Boost, but comes with a twist. The new inserts at the sneaker’s arch and more Boost is added towards the toe that are in bright neon pink and green – just like bits of candies. The Primeknit is a bit different too; you can see white peeking through the black and the knit patterns are not the same as the previous one. There’s not much news on the blue colorway or when they’re planning to release it.
A collaboration is about to drop too. Adidas has teamed up with global streetwear boutique JUICE to release this latest silhouette. With a black and white color scheme, it features the Alienegra artwork in reflective monochrome print. With the beloved black Boost midsole, it’s countered by a translucent outsole decked out with Alienegra graphic.
2. NMD R1 Primeknit STLT
Now, the new Adidas NMD R1 Primeknit STLT – it’s a mouthful to say. The latest adaption of the Adidas NMD is set to release with a bunch of new colorways – looking quite different than the typical Adidas NMDs.
It features new ribbing around the upper of the shoe for increased comfort and lockdown. With an all new Primeknit pattern, specks of other colors can be seen throughout all the colorways – making it a treat for the eyes. Unlike the racer, the NMD R1 STLT remains true to its roots and stays put with the conventional typical NMD Boost midsole and blocks placement. This NMD R1 utilizes color contrasting STLT knit weaves undercut by the solid-colored middle stabilizers and pull tabs.
3 new colorways are set to release!
They’re all set to drop in Summer 2018.
Will you cop any of these? Or do you prefer the previous ones?
