The Music Run (TMR) by CIMB is happening this Saturday 23rd November at the National Stadium at KL Sports City. Uniquely, this will the first carbon-neutral mass participation event in the country.
Consisting of 5 KM and 10 KM route, the marathon will be unlike any other as it is a marathon with a party! Music every step of the way, party vibes, and speakers pumpin’ the bear from start to finish. You won’t have a dull moment running through, let it be through!Source
It’s not just for the fun and beat you’ll be running to. You’ll be running for a good cause. Because the event is the first “carbon neutral mass participation”, the organizers have teamed up with green organizations that are championing environmental issues. Among the groups that are participating in the event is YTL Group Sustainability that tracks greenhouse emissions produced during the event.
Another great initiative out of this is the organizers of this marathon will be working with Visionary Solutions, a Swedish company that eradicates the use of single-use plastic water bottles. That means no plastic bottles! Participants are given re-usable water bottles by CIMB, which they can re-fill. By doing so, they saved 80,000 plastic water bottles from going to waste and the oceans.
Cash prize and goodies await the winners of this marathon!
To make it even more environmentally friendly, medals and trophies to be given out are made from recycled waste. Cardboards used in the event too are made from recycled materials.
Marathon galore aside, run with the rhythm of music from an awesome line-up of music as you run till the finishing line! You can find more information about the run here.
