If you’re looking for a teen comedy that has a grow-up-too-fast exposure, then the Kissing Booth will be the perfect choice! It is an eccentric romantic comedy that has attractive casts, idealized setting, and by all means closed-up romance which supply lots of teen appeal. Any teen romance fans who can handle the edgy content and who can see through the stereotypes will enjoy watching the refreshingly not-overly dramatic show with quite a satisfying ending.
Note: Spoiler Alert!
The story starts with Elle (Joey King) and Lee (Joel Courtney) who have been the bestest friends for their whole life. Lee has an older brother, Noah (Jacob Elordi). Noah appear to be indifferent towards Elle, and besides, Elle and Lee agreed not to date each other’s relatives. In short, the story circles around the friendship between Elle and Lee and the romance between Elle and Noah.
Well, the creative part of the movie is how Elle and Lee came up with the idea of setting up a kissing booth for a school carnival. The kissing booth is what stirred up the romance between Elle and Noah. The movie is lack of sensible expectations of teenage relationships and sex. Elle had never been kissed before but after kissing Noah at the booth, things escalated pretty quickly from there. Yikes!
This is where everything gets a little messy when Lee found out about Elle and Noah. Fights ensued and before we know it, Noah was about to leave to study abroad. Will Elle and Noah will have a chance to be together? What about the friendship between Lee and Elle?
