Tabikaeru is basically a game about a travelling frog. It has been very popular in China since its first released in the mid of January. Recently, it remained the most top on the most downloaded apps list in Apple Apps store and Google Play store. Gamers and those who are curious about it like me are obsessed with this cute game. The game was developed by a Japanese company, Hit-Point which was previously well-known for the cat-collecting game “Neko Atsume”. Players will be owning a cute green frog which lives in a hut. The green frog will eat, read, write, doze books, and sharpen pencil in its hut.

On the other side, outside of the hut, there will be a garden which player can collect clover as “money” in the game. You can swipe across the garden once every three hours to get 20 clovers. We can use the collected clovers to buy food. Unlike some other similar game, in Tabikaeru, players only have limited control over the frog. It simply means that, the frog can leave its hut anytime and travel around Japan.
Players will never know when and where the frog will be heading out, when it will be coming back and what items it will be bringing back. The duration can be as short as a few hours and as long as a few days. The frog might be bringing back some clovers, postcards or souvenirs for the owners and it can be nothing as well. Basically, we don’t have any ways to control the frog. However, we can prepare some food for the frog.

I personally love and obsessed with this game is because I don’t have to do a lot of things for the frog for example, feeding, bathing, and bringing it for a walk. It suits players who are a student or working people. We are not required to spend a lot of time with them. The only thing we have to do is collect the clovers to get them sufficient food. On the other hand, we are able to get some souvenirs when the frog get back from its travel. I enjoy looking at the photos the frog send it to me during its travel.
