Good news to all the penangites and tourists who are planning their trip to Penang during mid of April!
The Penang International Food Festival (PIFF) will be held for the second year in a row. Penang is always known as one of Malaysia’s food paradise. So, if you are curious how good and how delicious Penang’s delicacies are, this is your golden opportunity to check it out.
Last year, the PIFF 2017 has successfully showcased various food delicacies that Penang has to offer and attracted more than 260,000 visitors. PIFF 2017 also presented the seamless tradition of Penang’s food history, from authentic culinary methods of yesteryear to the innovative fusion cooking of the present and future cuisine during the event last year. That’s amazing, right?
So, what’s so special about this year then? Starting from April 14 till April 29, the main events and also mini events will be held in Penang. Besides demonstrating Penang’s street food, the organizer will also demonstrate the food scene for cafes, restaurants and hotels in Penang. There will be around 150 food trucks gather together serving in one place. If you plan to bring yours, consider getting a food truck custom made by Craftsmen so you can stand out.
Gosh, I’m already hungry by just typing these out.
Main events such as Street Food Festival, Taste of Penang and Food Truck Invasion will be held during weekends. The Street Food Festival will kick start with a blast on the 14th and 15th April 2018, from 5pm till 11pm in Lebuh Pantai, Penang.
Taste of Penang will be held on th 21st and 22nd April 2018, from 5pm till 11pm in Jalan Kelawai. This event will showcase some of Penang’s most popular cafes and restaurants. I would say it’s convenient for tourists because they don’t need to visit the cafes or restaurants one by one to taste the food. They can just try out everything on that day.
As for the Food Truck Invasion, it will be held on the 28th and 29th April 2018, from 5pm till 11pm in Design Village Outlet Mall which is located in Batu Kawan, Penang. Make sure to show up with an empty stomach!
As for their mini events, it seems like there will be events like themed dining experiences, professional chef’s challenge, Meatless Monday, mini Curry Festival, RM2 Food Fest, Thirsty Thursday, Crispy Friday and a whole lot more to look forward to. So what are you waiting for? Book your flight tickets, bus tickets or train tickets to Penang and experience the PIFF 2018!
