Unbelievable, isn’t it? But that was what Los Angeles-based startup, Mi Terro has done to curb the wastage of milk.

Every day, milk has been wasted and disposed of for reasons that has deemed it unfit for human consumption. But Mi Terro has been taking some of that milk and turning them into T-shirts that are supposedly softer than regular cotton!
Mi Terro takes waste milk and puts it through a process of fermenting, skimming and dewatering the waste until it becomes a form of powdered casein. That powdered casein is then immersed in alkali and passed through a spinneret to create fibres. Sulfuric acid removes the alkali from the fibres, and voilà! You got yourself yarn.

This unique blend of fabric makes an ultra-soft, machine washable, odor-free, wrinkle-resistant, temperature regulating cloth that moves with your body!
Mi Terro claims that every five shirts represent one glass of milk that would have otherwise been wasted. Imagine how many shirts we can make from this material!
The Limitless Milk Shirt is still a Kickstarter campaign, so check them out right here!
