KLIBF have also set up several literary discussions that will be posted on their social media.
Covid-19 has negatively affected many economic sectors and the book industry was no exception. Organizers of the event are hoping that this online initiative will reignite reading culture in Malaysia, while simultaneously revitalising the book industry.

Partnering with Shopee was a strategic move, too. Shopee is Malaysia’s largest e-commerce platform, and organisers believe that it is better suited to cope with the crisis as they are able to adapt to the new business world and stay relevant.
By transitioning online, the organisers of KLIBF expect to reach more than its yearly average of two million visitors.
Previously, KLIBF postponed their annual event due to the various movement control orders as a result of Covid-19. The fair was originally supposed to take place on the 27th of March till the 5th of April at Putra World Trade Centre, with over 750 confirmed exhibition booths.
