Another year of the San Diego’s Comic-Con has come and gone. It was the dream event for comic nerds and geeks, couch potatoes and movie-goers to get along in this historical exhibition for cosplay and get to meet their favourite actors and actresses, as well as getting the latest inside peek on upcoming movies and dramas that is so hyped that we could go not get home without an exclusive new footage or trailers of the movies. So let’s get to it and look at these inside scoops and trailers that we have got from from Comic-Con 2017.
1) Jigsaw
John Kramer is dead. Yet his poster was revealed at Comic Con along with the official teaser poster featuring a pig with a wig. Bodies are piling up all over the city in the most mutilated ways. How could this be seeing that the game-maker is dead? Is there a new killer on the horizon or Tobin Bell’s character is not dead after all?
2) The Walking Dead
Still missing my ginger hero Abe L After the massive massacre of fan-favourite characters last season, Rick and the squad is back in season 8 ready for the All Out War arc storyline against Papa Winchester and the Saviours. This season promises to have lots of guts and glory, as the people of Alexandria, Hilltop and Kingdom are seem to be in chaos in every scene of the trailer in the battle against the Saviours. Rick is seen aged a lot waking up in what looks like the hospital back in the very first episode in Season 1. Could this lead to the theory of The Walking Dead is all just a dream? Or could this lead to a whole new different storyline as Old Man Rick?
3) Game of Thrones
Not much has been revealed from the panels of Game of Thrones seeing that we are in the midst of the new season. The night is dark and full of spoilers as we have only seen some casual talks between the panels and our beloved Hodor as the host himself, Kristian Nairn. Regardless, we have been treated with sneak peeks of the next episode which includes the long-awaited meeting of the Dragon and the Direwolf, returning and reunion of characters which we have already known by this week’s episode. Winter is here, and get your hearts prepared to be bombarded by lots of death this season.
4) Supernatural
Not much has been spilled on the Season 13 of the Winchester’s brothers supernatural tale but a spin-off has been announced featuring Sheriff Jody Mills and a group of youngsters including our beloved Castiel’s daughter, Claire Novak as the Wayward Sisters. Fans were also treated with a surprise live appearance of Kansas, performing the show’s signature theme song, Carry On Wayward Son. After the bloodbath by Lucifer last season, let’s hope that it is not the last we have seen of the fabulous duo of heaven and hell, Castiel and Crowley.
5) X-Men Series
X-Men seems like not stopping in hitting the small screen as we have been treated with Legion last fall, set to continue its new season as well as the announcement of a new series by Fox, The Gifted set to premiere in September. The Gifted tells the tale of a group of mutants and their families on the run in a universe where the X-Men are gone.
6) American Horror Story: Cult
Yikesss! The eerie spooky series is returning again for another season this time featuring clowns. Creepy clowns. Creepy sadistic clowns. With the official title announced in Comic Con as American Horror Story: Cult, this came as a no surprise as clowns have been invading the streets around the world last year, nearing the presidential election. Seeing the Cult teaser, this season may feature the theme of patriotism as it shows groups of clowns standing around united in what appears to be a ritual of sorts with their spooky agenda remained in mystery.
7) Avengers Infinity War
Though no footage has been revealed officially, Marvel fanatics get a glimpse at the sneak peek of the ensemble casts of superheroes at the D23 and Comic Con as well. What we have known so far is that the Guardians of the Galaxy will meet Thor for the first time ever who was floating in space perhaps after the events of Thor Ragnarok, the children of Thanos as the supervillains that the Avengers will have to go against, Loki is up to no good again holding the Tessaract in his hands and a bearded Captain America, in what seems like the long-awaited rumour of Steve Rogers hanging the boots which marks the beginning of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While there are no teasers or trailers released, here are some posters to delight your comic book geek hearts.
8) Thor Ragnarok
An official poster and second trailer have been revealed at the San Diego event, what looks like a promising sequel to the Dark World with Hulk and Loki joining the fray as a team against Galadriel, who has succumbed to the One Ring. Although there is still no Hulk standalone film, rest assured as our green hero is set to have a major role in this film. Gladiator Hulk is definitely an enormous sight for Marvel fans.
9) Ready Player One
Get ready player one, to the world of Oasis where you will encounter various known characters from Warner Bros. Pictures and licensed characters in the pursuit of claiming the crown jewel of the universe which is the ownership of Oasis, following its creator death. A trailer has been released in Comic Con, and we get a few peeks and easter eggs of iconic characters such as Gandalf, Iron Giant, Freddy Krueger, Harley Quinn, Deathstroke and more to come in the journey of the virtual reality universe helmed by Steven Spielberg.
10) Justice League
Alas, the ultimate team-up of DC superheroes have finally come fruitful on the big screen soon. The ultimate teaser was released, showing the members of Justice League kicking ass with a new formidable villain in town who may be known as Stepphenwolf, a member of the Darkseid Elite which may see the film follows the storyline of Justice League Origins. The end scene of the trailer promises another member of our epic superhero team-up, could it be the Green Lantern or the Man of Steel who was not seen in the trailer after his heroic sacrifice in Dawn of Justice? After all, what is Justice League without Superman?
