Winter is coming, and the dead comes with it. We have been hearing this line right from our beloved late Ned Stark to his presumably bastard son, Jon Snow for six long seasons and yet the Whitewalkers are still beyond from reaching to the Wall. Stay hyped for Season 7 as July 16 is nearing upon us soon. Meanwhile, here are the 5 bold predictions of what to expected and unexpected of what’s to come:
1. The Direwolf and The Dragon
As we all know Daenerys has set sail for Westeros along with her massive fleet of the Unsullied and Dothraki backed by soldiers of Ironborn, Highgarden and Dorne and as we peek a few shots of the trailer, Daenerys has eventually stepped through the gates of her home, Dragonstone. With the death of Ser Barristan, Daario remaining in Meereen and Jorah out for finding greystone cure, the last Targaryen would probably need powerful and honorable friends aside from Tyrion and Varys. In comes the northern army, Jon Snow and certainly Ser Davos as the strategist advisor would be a fine addition to Daenerys forces against the mad queen wildfire-killing Cersei. Fans have been waiting for the clash of the King in the North and the Mother of Dragons and with two final seasons nearing, we will surely be treated with the meeting of the Direwolf and the Dragon.
2. The Real Azor Ahai Reborn
The Lord of Light certainly has a major part to play in the wars to come as we are introduced to the characters of Melisandre, Kinvara and the Brotherhood Without Banners. Stannis Baratheon was presumed by Melisandre to be the Azor Ahai reborn until he was executed by Brienne of Tarth. Now fans surely predicted that Jon or Daenerys would the real lightbringer but we left out a side character who might the hero all along. Enter the Onion Knight, this may sound bold but a recent theory suggests Ser Davos is the savior of Game of Thrones as there a few hints throughout the seasons. Back in Season 2, we saw Stannis holds the sword of Lightbringer and when he plunge it under the sand, Davos was there to lift the sword after the ceremony. “When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone” this is certainly related to the Onion Knight as his fleet was destroyed by wildfire and he is to be reborn again from the sea of salt. Could he really be The Prince That Was Promised all along?
3. Stannis is Alive?
My knee, it’s bending on its own to the one true king. After massacre battle of Winterfell, Stannis Baratheon was seen struck by Brienne of Tarth off-screen. Yes, the Boltons did confirmed his death and how the writers butchered his character from the books, I still keep my hopes high as he is the one and only king that cares for the realm and rides to the Wall to assists the Night’s Watch against the Wildling and the one who convinces Jon to rally the Wildlings to his side and I do believe we have not seen the last of Stannis the Mannis yet.
4. Ned Stark Returns, Maybe
In some form perhaps in dream sequence or ghost form as we had last seen him with his bastard Jon Snow, he promises Jon to talk about his mother on the next time they meet again. A promise is a promise and we believe that we have not seen the last of those two father-bastard son bonding again. Who wouldn’t want to see the noble heart and soul of Game of Thrones once again?
5. The Wall Crumbles
Winter is upon us and the Wall will be destroyed eventually to pave the way for the Whitewalkers to step foot into the realm. This could happen by the mysterious horn that is found along with the Dragonglass at the Fist of the First Men and has not been seen in awhile along with its mystery and purpose unravel. Perhaps it is the only magical tool that could bring the Wall down. Another pavement would be by Bran as the Night King left a mark on his arm to be able to pass through any magical shields including the Wall. Thus, Castle Black maybe doomed this season and the Kings and Queens of Westeros (hopefully without Cersei) shall unite against the Wights in the battle between the living and the dead.
