As tv nerd myself, I will never get over with cancelled television series especially the one that I have been catching up for years. Not only cancelled tv shows, what’s more is that I could not even get over shows that have been completed like the legendary story of how Ted Mosby met the girl of his dreams in How I Met Your Mother regardless of the controversial ending. And with those cancelled shows, there was so much stories yet to tell and how it could expand potentially has left me stuck in my mind of purgatory for years. So let’s get on to it and look at these forgotten shows that deserves a comeback.
1) Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as the awesome ass-kicking vampire slayer in this critical acclaimed and fan favourite series from the 90s. The show really needs a comeback as it was one of the greatest tv shows to ever hit the small screen on our big square-shaped tv and to see that again in this era whether as in continuation of the story or reboot but with Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her titular role, would be a welcome scene to tv geeks.
2) Veronica Mars
Fans were treated with a Veronica Mars movie in 2014 after years of cancellation but that still does not live up the hype the series has brought us. Though with the slightest chance, the story of the college detective solving mysteries should make a comeback to tv in order to live up the potential like the golden days of television a decade ago. After all, it’s Kristen Bell. Who wouldn’t want to see her as Veronica Mars again?
3) Constantine
The Constantine series was cancelled too soon after only one season while I was in the middle of watching the show. Matt Ryan was absolutely humorous and he nailed the DC character who specialize in hunting and killing demons and evil spirits making it such a waste in what could be a lengthy series with more stories to tell.
4) Heroes
Tim Kring’s Heroes was such an amazing phenomenon that ever hit the screen back from the first season in 2006 about ordinary people around the world trying to live and cope with normal life while dealing their superhuman abilities. The show second season has gone downward after an unfortunate writer’s strike. Although the show did return as Heroes Reborn, it did not live up to the theme of the first season with the lacking of our original heroes such as Peter, Sylar and Claire. Heroes really deserves so much recognition and more stories was promised after the exposure of Claire in the conclusion of fourth season which eventually marking the cancellation and the end of the series.
5) Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Before she was Cersei Lannister, she was Sarah Connor. Lena Headey was perfect as the role of Sarah Connor in this two season series of the epic tale of cybernetic organism traveling back in time to kill the Connors family. The series brought an unusual yet satisfying theme to the universe of Terminator with Summer Glau as the female Terminator who was sent to protect the family. With the perfect music score, impressive story writing and the ending of the last episode, there was so much more to explore in the story of the Sarah Connor Chronicles.
