When it comes to #ootd spots, there are plenty of places in Klang Valley which makes a good one. Heck, even a white wall or a parking lot can easily be a nice spot. But there are also GREAT #ootd spots to take pictures, and these places have been appearing on our Instagram feed more than once. Check out five of these spots in Klang Valley which makes them a great spot for you to immortalize your outfit of the day. Don’t be taken aback because this list is a mixture of café, shopping mall and university (yup, you read them right).
#1 Empire Damansara
Empire Damansara is a place with a lot of shops in Kuala Lumpur. It attracts crowds from those all over the city as its architecture is creative and artistic, making it a good place to have food and take nice photos. Basically, it communicates arts through color as you can see there is a row of colorful umbrella.
The second Instagram-worthy spot is the non other than the black and yellow wooden wall with a yellow color bench. People often chose this over the former spot as it has natural sunlight that can enhance quality of the photo. The third spot in Empire Damansara would definitely be the place where some craft hanging, it creates a strong art sense.

#2 APW Bangsar
APW was established in 1952 as a commercial printing factory. It was then converted into an inspiring creative space with several cafes and small scaled event place as well. All of the cafes located in APW are quite famous such as Breakfast Thieves and PULP by Papa Palheta. As APW is a space for people to held their small businesses, performances, and artisan market and some events or programmes, it attracts public attention. People can hang out in APW for 3-4 hours to enjoy performances or visit artisan market and have a cup of coffee with their family or friends. It is a great place to chill.
The staircase is a must photo spot for everyone who visited APW Bangsar. The unpainted wall is written #APWBANGSAR and if you pay more attention to the staircase, it is actually empty in the middle. You can either pose alone or with your gang as one of your squad goals.
#3 Taylor’s University
I believe that everyone is familiar with Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus. A smoke-free campus with a lake, a uni-square with trees and nice architecture of the school building. Hence, these factors attract a lot of students as well as public to take pictures or videos around the campus. As you all know, Taylor’s has several superstar or social media influencer students, they normally will take their #ootd photo around campus. One of Malaysia’s YouTube content creators, LizzChloe (who is also an ex-student of Taylor’s University) film one of her recent videos at this very location.
The most popular #ootd spot in Taylor’s will be the uni-square located right beside the lake. As you can see, the uni-square is designated as an area for students to chill with their course mates or friends during non-class hours. Some other spot will be the white color background, white fence with Syopz mall as background, white staircase, basketball court and etc. A small tip for you guys: do visit Taylor’s during weekend for nice #ootd picture, you don’t need to have student ID to enter.
Address: 1, Jalan Taylors, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor
#4 Merchant’s Lane Café
A café with some old school design especially their shop signboard is actually a mirror with name written in red color. Most of the furniture in this café made up of wood. This is a place where most hipster Instagrammer hang out at. However, its decoration and fusion dishes suit elderly as well. Basically, it’s a place that family can hang out at. It is situated at an old heritage building which is less noticeable.
Merchant’s Lane is pretty crowded during weekend with people that are craving for food they served and people who came for their environment or the nice #ootd spot. Back to the topic, the most popular #ootd spot is the one people sitting on the wooden swing chair. It is hard to find this kind of wooden swing chair in cafes, probably it’s our grandma’s generation chair. A few unique things that I found in this café was the ruined wall, wooden chair and rattan furniture. They purposely keep it there as a memory and as an old-world charm.

#5 Ikea
Among all the #ootd spots in Klang Valley, Ikea would be the most familiar one to everybody. Ikea is not only a place for us to get new furniture, get inspiration for home furnishing at an affordable price. Kids would love this place so much, all the furniture showcased in Ikea allows customers to try using it even the bed. Normally, I will see a bunch of kids playing around at the soft toy section.
Before we talk about the #ootd spot in Ikea, I would like to touch base Ikea’s food court. Their meatball, pasta, fish and chips and etc are everyone’s favorite. Do give it a try if you haven’t. Most people preferable #ootd spot will be the last section where people get their furniture or items at before proceeding to the payment counter. As you can see, people usually take picture at one of the rows of the furniture or items placed at. Whether it is a lovely type, cool type, sitting down, or trying to stand on the trolley poses, you can take any kind of picture you like as long as you don’t break it.
