We all experience cravings: the beast that challenges our self-control on a daily basis.
Whether it is that bar of chocolate that seems to be sending you to the fridge every 5 minutes or that can of Coke that you find so irresistible every single day.
Here are some cravings that are so popular they are actually a mood!
1. Sugar, Sugar!
Let your imagination run wild in candy land full of jelly beans, bright coloured lollipops, jumping sugar gummies, ice-cream, doughnuts, and smiling cupcakes! Most tit-bit stashes are comprised of these sweet treats!
One reason why you might be reaching for these sugary treats ever so often is for a quick fix for exhaustion and stress! So instead of asking what are cupcakes or where you can find more of them you can Signing yourself up for an activity that brings you joy – like a karaoke session, window shopping or a walk in the park! Making time to do what you love will certainly do the trick.
2. Emergency Chocolate
It’s no surprise that anyone would die for a bar of chocolate!
This supreme snack can solve anything! If you find yourself craving chocolate every other minute, then you might lack sleep or your body may be running low on magnesium. Or you might simply just be under the spell of dopamine: a feel-good chemical in your brain that associates eating chocolate with being happy!
Next time you catch yourself thinking of putting a piece of chocolate in your mouth, reach for an alternative that is rich in magnesium! This might save you from putting more calories on your hips.
3. Almighty Caffeine
There are countless of caffeine slogans shouted loud and proud by addicts or shall we call them lovers.
They must have invented these slogans as they reach for their next cup of coffee, tea or bubble tea! In a world where we have to know it all so we can be at the forefront, our minds are busy absorbing it all, sometimes to the point of exhaustion.
This is where the ‘wake-me-up’ magic caffeine in steps in and gives us the false impression of keeping it all together. This exhausts us further without us realizing. How about taking a break – go to bed early and get some real rest!
4. Feisty Coke Fizz
Fizz tickling your tongue on a hot day? Or a wake up can of cold Coke in the middle of a busy schedule? Raise your hand if this brings you to life! It’s no secret what makes this drink so compelling. Each serving of Coke contains 30mg of caffeine, which is enough to jump-start you for the next lap!
5. Crispy, Salty Chips
When in doubt, keep your friends close and a bag of crispy chips closer!
We are all fools for snacks. Craving for a good crunch might indicate stress in our lives, as we just want to binge on something makes us feel like we are in control.
Also, believe it or not, craving salt or salty foods usually means that you’re dehydrated. Salt cravings can also be an indication of a chloride deficiency. So grab a glass of water the next time you want to reach for some chips!
6. Spice, Spice Baby
Everybody has that friend who loves spicy food to literally tears, even when it means sending you straight to the loo 8 times a day! These are the ones who love intensity and excitement in life! They are free-spirited, outgoing, curious and always up for the most extreme adventures.
