We have seen a fair share of some of the horror masterwork by James Wan as he had proved that he could do great work out of the horror genre as well, most notably his amazing work tribute to Paul Walker in Furious 7. Wan seems to be not stopping for a nap as he has various projects lining up so let’s take a look at some of his future movie projects whether as in horror or non-horror.
1. Aquaman
James Wan takes on the helm in directing the standalone live action film of the Atlantean hero as part of the DC Universe to be released after the upcoming Justice League movie. It features an ensemble casts with Jason Momoa as the hero of Atlantis along with Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lungren and Nicole Kidman. A movie out of the horror zone by James Wan, it is set to release in December 2018.
2. Insidious Chapter 4
The journey to The Further continues in this prequel taking place before the first movie, follows the story of Elise Rainier in her younger days when she discovered her abilities in communicating with the dead. James Wan serves only as a producer in this prequel, hopefully it will managed to capture back the elements of terror to the original first two movies.
3. The Nun
Yikesss! The freaking creepy demonic nun from The Conjuring 2 is having her own movie in this spin-off from the Conjuring universe. Seeing that Annabelle has got its own spin-off with a sequel coming up, it comes as a no surprise that the notorious dark demonic Nun would have her very own standalone movie and with Wan serving as a producer and writer as well, we could bet that she would be frightening us with more of her genius scares.
4. Robotech
Although deals have not come to a finalization, the upcoming live adaptation of the anime is confirmed to be directed by James Wan along with Tobey Maguire as producer. The classic anime follows an aftermath when an alien battleship crashed on Earth, mankind research and develops advanced weapons through the battleship and battle against alien invasions to save planet Earth. Regardless, Wan assured that the movie will follow the roots of the anime franchise.
5. The Crooked Man
The Conjuring Universe never seems to be stopping for a quick rest as James Wan once again set to produce another spin-off from his universe of terrors, the fabulous Crooked Man which date is yet to be confirmed.
6. The Conjuring 3
Not much has been revealed on the continuation story of Ed and Lorraine Warren but it is confirmed to be under production with James Wan might be unable to return to direct due to other commitments, but serves as a producer yet again. Reports stated that the third chapter may not be a haunted house theme, thus going into a different direction that might involve werewolves instead.
