You have seen a lot of Stephen King’s movie adaptation, but have you read his large collection of books from his supernatural library? Stephen is the king of author when it comes to writing not only spooky tale, but fantasy and science fiction as well from his imaginative mind of the unknown, and sharing his fantasy world of horror through short stories, movies and published novels. These are some of the must-read books to spook your night before you sleep. Don’t turn off the lights tonight!
1) Carrie
Stephen King’s original tale of the girl with supernatural abilities was much different than the film adaptations. The first published novel by King, tells the story of what seems like an ordinary girl with telepathic powers who has succumbed to darkness after being abused and bullied by schoolmates which results her to wreaking violence and massacre putting her abilities as a lethal weapon.
2) The Shining
The tale of the psychotic caretaker who runs amok chasing after his own family in a hotel came from the brilliant mastermind of Stephen King was a classic cult hit to book readers that it has spook them and tremble them in fear when the clock ticks in the midnight.
3) Cujo
This one scares me as I have watched the film when I was very, very young. The horrifying rabid canine from King’s novel going around killing and biting everyone like a zombie-like beast has had me fear in facing big giant dogs till today. Stephen King has convinced me that not all dogs are our best friend.
4) Bag of Bones
The story has indeed lots of bones with deadly ghosts wreaking havoc everywhere possessing humans and behaving in sadistic ways and killing others brutally.
5) Misery
When a woman kidnaps you and wants you to write a sequel to your book desperately then do it. Crazy woman will cut off you thumbs and toes and rip you open little by little if you don’t give her what she wants. The deranged Annie Wilkes is not one to mess with.
6) The Mist
The tale of terrifying monsters was a phenomenal hit during the old days for book readers and movie-goers alike. Envision ourselves being trapped our home with the mysterious mist out there with nothing can be seen, only a kraken-like creature waiting to pull you to your demise.
7) IT
Pennywise, the demented clown that has been terrorizing not only the characters in the book, but to book and novel readers, movie maniacs and horror fanatics as well. With the remake of the phobic clown coming soon, best to relive the tale through reading the book before watching the movie though one might have doubts stepping into the cinemas watching him on the big screen yet again, seeing that the trailer is so eerily terrifying.
