Time to get on one knee, boys! We’re kidding.
Here are 8 other Valentine activities you can do for your significant other instead!
1. Bake cookies/chocolate
The “OG” way to celebrate Valentines day. This is reminiscent of the old school days where giving chocolates to your crush or to whomever you love was a thing. It wouldn’t hurt to put in the extra effort to open your mom’s recipe book or look up how to make chocolates online. In fact, your partner might love you more!
2. Baking Class together
Alright, alright. You’re nervous about baking as it could be your first time and you’re afraid you might burn the house down. No worries! Book a baking class at the nearest workshop and you won’t have to worry about anything at home catching fire. There will be a teacher to guide you through and show you the steps to bake the loveliest brownie/dessert.
3. Bring her/him to the place you first fell in love with her/him
Reignite that fiery passion of love for your partner as you walk down memory lane. And no, it doesn’t have to be only one place, it could be multiple places too! To make things more romantic, leave special notes at the different locations on what made you fall in love in each location.
Consider spicing things up by booking a time slot at an axe throwing venue. Axe throwing dates make for some really creative activities that allow you to get to know each other on a unique level, book now at Viking Axe Throwing’s website.
4. Compile your favourite songs
Long car rides means endless karaoke sessions in the car. Making an “Our Playlist” isn’t very hard through Spotify or any music app. The genre of songs could be anything under the sun and you could, as a suggestion, pick the songs that both of you like from each other’s favourite songs.
5. Midnight drive to watch the sunrise
If you have time over the weekend, take a slow drive up Cameron Highlands on a midnight and watch the sunrise from there. You can also book a hotel for a two night stay and check in the night beforehand, so you don’t have to wait till afternoon to check-in. A splendid way to spend the Valentines if you have a lot of time on your hands.
6. Wear your best dress and have dinner at home
Whether it is having a full course meal or having takeaways at home, the best part about it is being with your partner. For the people on a budget and would rather have their loved ones try their homecooked meals, who says couples can’t recreate a high-end dining experience? Put on your best outfit and have the best night for yourselves on Valentines.
7. Put together a photo album and frame it up on your partner’s wall
Memories of her/him will never leave and looking back at the pictures always puts a smile on your face. The collection of photos that you keep in your wallet/purse can be hung up on a picture frame of all the memories to recall, to relive them again. If it’s your first time, it could also be the perfect day to start the collage. And if it’s not, you can print out the pictures and add on!
8. Sleep in
On the morning of Valentines day, surprise your partner with breakfast in bed as you’re both going to sleep in. An unorthodox way of celebrating Valentines day compared to other couples, but if your partner has been working hard all week and hardly has the time to rest, sneak back into bed and cuddle to your heart’s content!
