At Disney’s D23 Expo in August, Duff revealed that Lizzie would be returning as a 30-year old and she’s living in NYC. In the series, Lizzie hasn’t got it all figured out yet.
The 32-year-old actress told E! News “For me coming back when she’s 30 and she’s not in a marriage and she’s not having a baby and she’s not doing all the things that I have already done in my life, that story is really exciting for me,”
She told that the opportunity is endless and there will be a lot of fun going into it as she wants to give fans what they want, but she also wants to have a completely new show.
2. The first EP will end with a twist
In a recent interview, Duff told GMA that Lizzie “gets some pretty big news at the end of the first episode.”. She didn’t state if the “big news” will be related to Lizzie’s career or her personal life but it might even be connected.
The actress also has stated that Lizzie will be an apprentice at the start of the show. That includes that there might be a change in the characters’ job at one point in the series.

3. The show won’t explain how Lizzie ended up in NYC
Apparently, the reboot won’t address on how and what led Lizzie to step into the bustling streets of New York City.
Duff has also said that Lizzie probably isn’t going to stay there for very long. She will be coming back to Los Angeles.
4. Animated Lizzie will still be wearing the same exact outfit from the original series
It wouldn’t be a Lizzie McGuire series without Lizzie’s cartoon alter ego with her classic pink crop top and orange platform flip flops.
“She’s the heart of it and the sass of it all,” Duff told Variety. Duff also said that animated Lizzie is her favorite element of the show because she feels like she still has her 13-year-old self-telling her she’s not cool or speaking the truth when it can’t be spoken.
5. There will be familiar faces in the reboot series

Disney revealed during October that Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas will reprise their roles as Lizzie’s family members.
Duff told in an interview with GMA that some characters will be returning. “There’s a lot of surprises in store and I think everyone’s dreams are going to be fulfilled by going on the journey of the show,” she said.
She also hopes that Gordo, Lizzie’s love interest from the original series will be involved.
So far, there’s no release date for the series yet and the number of episodes available is unclear as well. But, you can expect the reboot to return sometime in 2020 on Disney’s streaming service, Disney+
