Regardless of how many times you’ve been here, Malacca will make you appreciate its exceptional mix of antiquated structures and modern living with amazing sights! This small town is a renowned traveler destination with a rich social legacy, resulting to the frontier administer of Portuguese, Dutch and British. Customary culture were carried on by the Baba and Nyonya who are relatives of the Chinese representatives of Ming Dynasty where they emigrated from China and settled here. Here are some hidden gems recommended by yours truly who was born and raised in this historical town which I call home:

Cendol is a must when you visit Melaka. You can get the best Cendol from Bibik House. Once you try their cendol, you wouldn’t have any desire to eat other cendol. They only sell 2 types of cendol here- the ordinary one and the other one with durian enhance. Each table have a little jug of gula Melaka where customers can add as much gula Melaka into their cendol. Unlimited gula Melaka! They also sell locally made food in packages such as crackers, sweets, pineapple tarts, curry powder and just to name a few. How nice is that? You can buy souvenirs at the same time you eat cendol. This little shop is located right next to 7-Eleven.

This little pub located in Jonker Street is worth the visit especially when you just want to chill and have some drinks with your buddies. You know you are going to have a good time when the place exudes a cozy vibe with music playing while you’re chugging your drinks. The nasi lemak from this restaurant not quite the same from the ones we usually have. Generally, nasi lemak is consist of fragrant rice, anchovies, nuts, boiled eggs, sambal, and cucumber. This particular store, however, is like a nasi lemak ala mix rice edition as customers can add more sides onto their nasi lemak, such as chicken rendang, beef rendang, sambal cockles, fried fish, and fried chicken are the popular dishes there. A must try!
