1. Spider-Man: Homecoming
The second reboot film of the Spider-Man franchise, this feature follows our protagonist, Peter Parker after his superhero escapades along with the #squad in Captain America: Civil War. Going back to a normal routine of a high school student while balancing his valiant streak as Spider-Man proves to be no easy feat, so how does he do it?
While Homecoming certainly holds many of the formulaic elements of a superhero movie, I would say the one character to keep an eye out for is the Vulture. Played masterfully by Michael Keaton, if he is anything like he was portrayed in the trailer, you’re sure in for a visual treat.

2. It
When news first broke out about the blatant remake of this Stephen King novel, many loyal fans were dismayed at yet another studio’s cutthroat attempt to capitalise on a literature classic. It tells a spine-tingling tale of how a group of seven friends encounter a shape-shifter, that takes after the persona of an evil clown who specifically have a soft spot for children.
Things took for a positive turn when the bone-chilling trailer was released, with many critics helming it as “not your regular cheap thrill”. Don’t believe any of these hype? Watch it for yourself and experience the chills first-hand.
3. Kingsman: The Golden Circle
If you have watched the first instalment in the Kingsman franchise, you’re sure to familiarise yourself with their cutting-edge storytelling pace and gorgeous highly-stylised shots. The plot tells of Eggsy’s journey along with his fellow agent colleagues when their headquarters is destroyed by Poppy, a criminal mastermind and member of the secret group “The Golden Circle”.
Give this a shot if you’re a fan of action movies and don’t mind catching a glimpse of Channing Tatum and Elton John (yes, you read that right)!
4. Thor: Ragnarok
A third-part sequel to the Thor film franchise, this movie’s plot is pretty straightforward – Thor has to defeat Hulk in a gladiatorial duel in order to prevent Hela from destroying Asgard. Summed up in just one neat sentence, some may wonder what other surprises this superhero flick may have to offer.
Two words: Cate Blanchett. Watch the trailer and you’ll find out why.
5. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
Ending our superhero streak here is a golden oldie from everyone’s childhood – Jumanji. Intended as a sequel to Robin Williams’ 1995 classic, this fantasy adventure flick tells the story of how four teenagers are transported into a gaming console and must fight their way back to reality – alive.
While it’s still a tad too soon for a trailer release, why not bask in the nostalgic feels with the original Jumanji?
