Feast your eyes with the work of art by artists from 15 countries!
The 13th edition of Art Expo Malaysia 2019 is back with an array of A(rt)-listers from various countries! Showcasing collections by 60 respected, reputable art galleries, AEM 2019 features an impressive collection of over 1,500 artworks, with some promising names on board which have some of their work for sale at art local stores.
The exhibition will be held for two days this 11 October to 13 October, from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM at the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre. Being the prestigious it is, does not MINCE words on arts!
For this year, AEM will be taking a different route from other galleries. They are following the 3Cs: Contemporary, Cutting-edge, and Curatorial.
This 3-day event consist of 7 fair concepts and 5 Art Expo Curation for your eyes to feast in. Fair concepts include the South East Asia Lab, showcasing exhibitions from two talented South East Asian artists: Tan Zi Hao of Malaysia and Mella Jaarsma of Indonesia. Tan Zi Hao will showcase the recreation of Makara, a mythical Hindu creature made with fiberglass and metal! Mella meanwhile will showcase her costume concoction called DiCabut.
Don’t miss out on other concepts as well. The South East Asia ART NOW assembles the artworks from the top galleries of South East Asia that are made by top artists. We even have our very own Segaris Art from the country’s premier art institution – UITM being showcased. Art Town meanwhile assembles works from reputable galleries. Works include Quentin Garel’s Orang Utan made specifically for the AEM, with his works having been exhibited around the world. Works from galleries such as J Studio (Philippines), Art Xchange Gallery (Indonesia) and Able Fine Art NY (United States) are one of the many galleries that’ll be showcased.
It’s not just artworks that’ll be shown. Learn about art at Art Talk, where 5 professionals with diverse backgrounds will be discussing the art scene. And don’t miss out on Cultural Exchange.
The Embassy Row won’t be missing out, as artists from select embassies including Brazil, Croatia, Italy will have their artworks featured.
