As many of you TVB and Canto-pop fans in Malaysia have already know, Hong Kong biggest entertainment scandal that involves the likes of Andy Hui, Jacqeuline Wong, and their respective partners- Sammi Cheng and Kenneth Ma broke out on Tuesday after a video footage that captures Hui and Wong getting hot and heavy at the back of a taxi went viral.
In the wake of this cheating saga, Hui has since made a public apology for his shameful behavior in a press conference. Ma, who is (might be was as we speak) the boyfriend of 4 years to Wong, has also addressed this issue with the press. In the video, Ma, who appears to be calm, cool and collected, defended Wong, stating that she is sorry for her actions. Ma also urged the press and public not to speculate the issue any further as it has already cause a lot of damage to those who are near and dear to Hui and Wong.
In full retrospect of the turn of event, it got me thinking about a couple of things:
1. Was he sorry because he was caught red-handed?
This refers to Hui and Wong. If the video was not leaked to public in the first place, will he actually admit about to his wrongdoing to his wife of 5 years, Sammi Cheng?
Only God knows.
In the meantime, the real question lies on this- Is it too late to say sorry?
Perhaps Bieber can teach them a thing or two about this.
2. A deal breaker for Ma and Wong?
First and foremost, kudos to Ma who maintained his composure as he address the scandal with the press. Ma, who has been with Wong for 4 years (which is like forever in any relationship standard), were seen defending Wong. Perhaps he was also doing his best to lessen the damage that has been done especially for his family and his company TVB, who by the way has a long term contract with Ma and Wong.
3. Sammi Cheng keeps mum thus far
The one who has to bear the emotional brunt from the whole cheating scandal has got to be Cheng, who is married to Hui for 5 years, not forgetting that they also have an on-and-off relationship for to close to 3 decades!
According to various sources online, Cheng has since moved out from her home with Hui to be with the presence of her family so that she has space to digest this shocking revelation about her relationship and marriage.
Whatever it is, we hope that Cheng, who once had depression, finds clarify and peace as soon as possible.
4. Career breaker for Wong?
So, it was made known that Wong was benched immediately by TVB as soon as this scandal broke loose. Wong, whom apparently was not exactly best-loved by Ma’s mother, was a former Miss Hong Kong runner-up who then turned to an actress like most Hong Kong beauty pageants do.
Will she see another dawn in the entertainment industry after turning into possibly one of the most despicable person in Hong Kong overnight?
Only time will tell.
5. Leaking video footage recorded in public transportation. Yay or nay?
This is perhaps one of the most mind-boggling questions of all.
Of course we have seen enough viral video footage which essentially protects drivers from crazy passengers. But, is it ethical for the taxi driver to reveal this video to the public as it doesn’t involve any violence or any sort within the vehicle?
Also, should Hui and Wong are just normal citizens, will this video even come to light in the first place? Does this violate any of the enforced Customer Protection Regulations at all?
Either way, to those who you who are reading, be sure not to get naughty when you’re taking public transportation service.
What do you guys think about the scandal?
