Childhood memories are shapes us to be who we are today. Kids born in the 90s would remember certain sound o which will bring back nostalgic memories.
I don’t know about you but I remember when I was younger, my siblings and I would grab an ice Potong every other evening.
Let’s see if you’re able to recall such nostalgic sound from back in the days:
1. Ice-Cream uncle in motor
This is better than Christmas. I remember running out to the door just in time to get an ice-cream and while my parents would rush out from the kitchen to help us pay for the ice-cream. They have the best Paddle-Pop rainbow colour ice-cream which was only RM 1.50.
2. Exchange bed sheet (Tilam Tilam, Yau Sau Gao Tilam)
No doubt, you can probably hear it till today if you imagine the rhyme.
3. Favourite breakfast delivery uncle (Roti Uncle)
This will be our mother’s favourite food delivery uncle. Our breakfast will probably depend if she missed the uncle or not. Their white ‘roti’ and ‘pandan kaya’ was the best.
4. Old Newspaper
This is how Malaysians learn to recycle items that are bad for mother earth.
5. Pasar Malam generator
We can never get enough of night markets! They seem to have the tastiest food!
6. Hula Hoop
Wonder if kids nowadays still play with hula hoops?
7. Legendary Unseen Bird
Every morning especially after rain, the sound of bird chirping will definitely be heard but will never be found or seen anywhere. Seems to be mysterious but it’s there.
