Before you wind up in trouble whilst travelling overseas, have you heard of these 5 strange laws?
1. It’s illegal to wear camouflage print clothing in most the Caribbean and Zimbabwe
If you plan on visiting these places, make sure you don’t take any camo print clothing, or you might end up spending time in jail or paying a hefty fine. Camouflage print clothing is not allowed to be worn by just anyone in these countries, as it is the uniform of the military. This is to avoid any confusion, because yes – your camo print crop top or bikini might make you look like a military official.
2. It’s illegal to swear in the U.A.E
Ever had a swear jar in your house when you were a kid? The U.A.E. takes this concept and levels it up, making you pay a fine of up to 10,000 dirhams (RM12,000) plus spending up until a year in prison!
What. The. Duck.
3. It’s illegal to pay with too many coins in Canada
We’ve all had those moments where we have no cash left and break open the coin box we’ve had for years to pay for a meal. Unfortunately, doing that in Canada may be a crime as payments above $10 can not be paid with more than one coin.
4. It’s illegal to ride a cow while drunk in Scotland
Whilst we’re not too sure if it’s illegal to ride a cow while sober, we definitely wouldn’t ride one while drunk in Scotland. It isn’t too clear whether you’d receive a DUI for this act, or maybe it would be an RUI (Riding Under the Influence)
5. It’s illegal to hunt for whales on a Sunday in Ohio
Hunting whales on any other day would be a good solution, if Ohio actually had whales. We’ve been asking ourselves why this law exists for a place with no whales, but we’re sure there must be some reasoning behind it.
