Netflix’s Bird Box is a huge success and is breaking records with their amazing cinematography and screenplay.
Have you heard of the Bird Box challenge? The challenge took flight right after it was screened on Netflix.
People on the internet would film themselves blindfolded and some accompanied by their children to do every day routines.
For instance…
The challenge inspired from the movie features Malorie, played by Sandra Bullock who tries to get her children to a sanctuary located at the end of a distanced river, but the catch is to remain blindfolded. Reason being is because of an ominous unseen presence that roams around them and if the creatures are seen, they would drive the person who saw them to suicide.
Netflix has taken it to their own hands by releasing an official tweet to warn the public of the dangers and asked people to stop participating in the ridiculous challenge.
Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.
— Netflix US (@netflix) January 2, 2019
Famous Youtuber Jake Paul did the exact opposite right after Netflix released the tweet, the video uploaded on the YouTuber’s channel has since been taken down.
We are unsure if the backlash of the video had driven Paul to take the video down or that YouTube decided that it would cause more harm than entertainment and took it down instead.
