We have been surprised by the outrageous stunts of David Blaine, David Copperfield, Criss Angel, and Harry Houdini, but there are many talented individuals from our very own homeland that have mastered the art of illusionist and magic let’s take a look at these Malaysian master of illusions.
1. Chris Cheong
Chris has taken the interest in magic since he was a kid when his parents took him to a magic show. One of the youngest illusion artist to have ever performed on the stage, Chris have started performing in events at the age of 13 and went on to performed and appeared in numerous broadcast media across Asia, as his bright personality and specialization in the field of interactive stage and close-up magic has been a favourite over millions of audiences and celebrities.
2. Anslem Roy
Anslem Roy has an impressive set of skills and experience in his resume, having to pursue his passion in magic with difficulties along the way, only to become the man that he is today winning the International Merlin Award in 2001. The veteran even has his own shop of magical arts, The Magic Shoppe, also serving as event and illusion consultant, producer and manager of his own event company, The Magic Annexe.
3. Jonathan Lee
With his unique style of performing without fancy equipments, Jon Lee performs using the everyday objects in close-up audience with the likes of cards, paper, coins or flowers granting him the opportunity to perform in vast range of major company events and launches, such as SP Setia, Maxis, Guinness and Porsche. He had even participated in the grand debut premiere of the Harry Potter movie.
4. Andrew Lee
The master of the 13 variations of magic is none other than Andrew Lee, who has mastered the art of levitation, vanishing and mentalism that he would perform these stunts in superbly close-up with audiences that the magic happened on their very own hands. The artist has been performing all around the world from Asia to countries like India, Egypt, Qatar and Australia, to performing as the in-house magician in Resort World Genting.
5. Jeff Leong
Jeff Leong has achieved a lot ever since he came to the world of illusionist, having to win multiple talent search competitions and appeared on major tv broadcasts such as RTM, NTV7, 8TV, and ASTRO. He has been invited by major companies to serve as a host and the first magician to have ever been invited to perform his magical acts for the Sultan and his royal family.
6. Samuel Chong
Samuel Chong is known for his comedic and humorous act when it comes to showcasing his magical talents in his hometown of Penang, often his audience came to be amazed by his performance.
7. David Lai
Having won the noble Merlin Award in 2012, David unexceptionally the master of mind-reading, telekinesis and hypnotic persuasion, he is able to freely roam the streets and perform his acts at random times with civilians. Having to work along with Andrew Lee in his production company named as Tess Management, they have produced various both local and international magic shows around the globe.
